It was a comfy cozy cape kind of day…

 I had to take Maya back to Children’s Hospital on Tuesday for a test that took up two parts of the day.  What sounded perfect, was to be wrapped up in a cozy blanket.  Truth be told, what sounded perfect was not having to do it at all!  Well, this cape/wrap did the trick…for making me feel cozy, that is.

My mom got these next few of Maya and me…

Blog Cream Cape DL1961 Emma Frye Boots-1After every visit, they give her a stuffed animal.  She is now OBSESSED with “baby bear”.  You will be seeing a lot of him, I’m predicting… 😉 Blog Cream Cape DL1961 Emma Frye Boots-2 Blog Cream Cape DL1961 Emma Frye Boots-3Jumping for joy, because the test is over haha 🙂 Blog Cream Cape DL1961 Emma Frye Boots-4 Blog Cream Cape DL1961 Emma Frye Boots-5I completely forgot to get pics of just me until it was almost dark.  I grabbed the tripod, ran outside, and did not care AT ALL that all my neighbors driving home from work were wondering what I was doing 🙂 Blog Cream Cape DL1961 Emma Frye Boots-6 Blog Cream Cape DL1961 Emma Frye Boots-7 Great news- The scan showed no kidney damage-WOO HOO.

A little Boho influence…

Layering with Sweaters…

 I got this sweater in the mail from StyleMint the other day, and I couldn’t wait to wear it!  I love that I can put a long sleeve t shirt under it and wear it now, but also can’t wait to wear it next spring/summer too!

As a side note.  If it’s overcast (diffuses the harsh midday sun), I try and do these shoots around lunch time so that I can stick Maya in her wagon with her lunch to keep her occupied.  Today she was watching me run back and forth with the self timer and she kept laughing and saying “Hi Mommy!  What are you doing?!”  Over and over… 🙂Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-1 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-2 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-3 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-4 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-5 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-6 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-7 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-8 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-9 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-10 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-11 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-12I tried to get her to throw the leaves up in the air, and this is what I got 🙂 Blog StyleMint Sage Sweater Vince Skinny Jeans-13On me…

What to wear to the Pediatric Radiologist {I only wish I was kidding…}

 I think I mentioned before that Maya has had some issues for the past 5 months.  We’ve been going to the Dr more times that I can even count.  For sure more times that I want to count.

  Through it all, she’s been such a champ.  Still full of smiles.  THIS?  A few hours after she was put under anesthesia, poked, proded, and…well a lot of other things.  Love this little resilient nugget more than anything!blog BCBG Sweater Genetic Denim Jeans Frye Harness Boots-1 blog BCBG Sweater Genetic Denim Jeans Frye Harness Boots-2Me?  I just wanted to be comfy… blog BCBG Sweater Genetic Denim Jeans Frye Harness Boots-3 blog BCBG Sweater Genetic Denim Jeans Frye Harness Boots-4 blog BCBG Sweater Genetic Denim Jeans Frye Harness Boots-5 blog BCBG Sweater Genetic Denim Jeans Frye Harness Boots-6On me…

I love an interesting back…

I don’t know why, but I’ve always been drawn to clothes that look fairly simple from the front, but then have interesting features on the back.  Mullet clothing if you will 🙂  Low back dresses get me every time.  Cut outs, embellishments, and little surprise when you turn around.  Love it!

Ps-can we all just imagine that I didn’t mess up the focus with the self timer on the full length shots?  Ok, thanks 🙂Blog Rachel Pally Cashmere Cape AG the Tights Vintage Frye Boots-1I have had these vintage Frye boots for a long time (don’t even remember how long!)  They are a little banged up, but I like the dichotomy of the cashmere sweater, gold jewelry and then worn in boots 🙂 Blog Rachel Pally Cashmere Cape AG the Tights Vintage Frye Boots-2I already wore this lariat I scored from Gorjana-Griffin last week, and I think it’s safe to say that you will be seeing it a lot more.  Love it! Blog Rachel Pally Cashmere Cape AG the Tights Vintage Frye Boots-3 Blog Rachel Pally Cashmere Cape AG the Tights Vintage Frye Boots-4The only bad thing about low backs or cut out backs.  What to wear under it?  I’ve dared to wear this with nothing and just a bra, but most times I put a cami or a long sleeve t-shirt under it. Blog Rachel Pally Cashmere Cape AG the Tights Vintage Frye Boots-5 Completely unrelated, but I tried ALL summer to get Maya to wear this hat-no go!  Suddenly in the last month, she’s become obsessed with it…  OK! Fun with the fog…or really, just having fun :)

I have been LOVING all the fog we’ve been having here in Seattle.  It’s SO much fun to photograph!  Clients always get excited by sun (so limiting for pictures!), but fog…love it!  Some like sun flare…I like fog flare 😉

Is Halloween for a 2 year old for them…or us?

Please, please, PLEASE say us 🙂  I feel bad for Maya because both her birthday and Halloween fall during my busiest season.  What that means is that all the ideas I’ve had floating in my mind, just get left there and she gets a family bbq for her birthday and butterfly wings I bought off Zulily last year for Halloween…

She’s been so crazy for the butterfly wings for the last few months (I’ve got them stored in the top shelf of her closet).  Of course, when I wanted her to wear them, she didn’t want to.  See, for us right?? 😉blog Maya Butterfly Wings Gap tutu-1So, we played in the leaves instead 🙂blog Maya Butterfly Wings Gap tutu-2 blog Maya Butterfly Wings Gap tutu-3blog Maya Butterfly Wings Gap tutu-4 Mind you.  I was wearing the wings for our entire walk around the neighborhood.  Got some great looks from my neighbors 🙂  Then, finally she wanted to wear them.  Near these pumpkins-score! blog Maya Butterfly Wings Gap tutu-6 blog Maya Butterfly Wings Gap tutu-5On Maya…
