It was another all black kind of day…

Do you ever have those days when you feel so overwhelmed with work, kids, and LIFE that the last thing you want to think about is “what am I going to wear?”??  Yeah, me too!! 🙂

When that happens, I revert to my comfort zone….black.blog Club Monaco Cashmere Blank NYC Skinny Cords Frye Harness Boots-1 blog Club Monaco Cashmere Blank NYC Skinny Cords Frye Harness Boots-2When I wear all black, I like to at least play with texture… blog Club Monaco Cashmere Blank NYC Skinny Cords Frye Harness Boots-3 blog Club Monaco Cashmere Blank NYC Skinny Cords Frye Harness Boots-4 blog Club Monaco Cashmere Blank NYC Skinny Cords Frye Harness Boots-5My husband worries that Maya will get “tainted” by me taking all these pictures of her and that she’ll think she’s a model.  Um, I’m not worried 🙂 blog Club Monaco Cashmere Blank NYC Skinny Cords Frye Harness Boots-6Just a kid jumping in leaves! blog Club Monaco Cashmere Blank NYC Skinny Cords Frye Harness Boots-7Funny story.  It was COLD yesterday and WINDY!  Maya had ripped out the braid I had put in her hair and wouldn’t sit still for me to put her hair in a ponytail.  SO…this is the 5 second updo, and I kind of like it! blog Club Monaco Cashmere Blank NYC Skinny Cords Frye Harness Boots-8On me…

Gray Frye Booties…what do I do with you?

I bought these boots a while ago, and thought they were perfect!  Until…I tried to mix them into outfits.  The color is a little light… I can’t quite figure out a color scheme that works with them.  After many attempts, I figured I’d just go for it and see how it looked on camera.  It really is funny how I’ll see something in the mirror and think it looks good, but when I take pictures of it, I think….what was I thinking??  Kind of makes me feel bad for celebrities.  Kind of… 😉

That is one of the things I’m really liking about doing this blog.  The experimenting… Trying outfits I might not have tried before.  Well, that, and actually just getting out of my work out clothes and taking a shower haha 🙂Blog Design History Cardigan Joes Jeans Frye Booties-1 Blog Design History Cardigan Joes Jeans Frye Booties-2 Blog Design History Cardigan Joes Jeans Frye Booties-3 Blog Design History Cardigan Joes Jeans Frye Booties-4This face makes me forget all about bootie woes 🙂 Blog Design History Cardigan Joes Jeans Frye Booties-5 Blog Design History Cardigan Joes Jeans Frye Booties-6 Blog Design History Cardigan Joes Jeans Frye Booties-7She kept going up and down this driveway.  Up…and down.  Up…and down.  Don’t you wish it was that easy to find joy as an adult? 🙂 Blog Design History Cardigan Joes Jeans Frye Booties-8 Blog Design History Cardigan Joes Jeans Frye Booties-9So…I’d welcome any suggestions on how to wear these boots!  I LOVE them, but they have just been sitting on my shelf :{.  They need to be worn!

Can we just pretend I took a shower?

Ok, good.  Now let’s carry on.  🙂

Ever since starting this blog, I’ve started dressing up a little more than I have since I started working from home (which was 6 years ago).  The Huz is really liking that part 🙂  I’ve always had the other clothes, but kind of fell into a rut.  When you work from home, are a stay at home mom, or in my case both, it can just be easier to stay in your sweats haha.  Most days, I don’t take my shower until later in the day, which means hair in a bun…  All that said, I feel SO much better about myself when I do get out of my sweats and actually put some thought into my clothes.  Even if I don’t make it into the shower haha 🙂

So, I may not have taken a shower, nor put a lot of thought into my outfit, but at least I’m not in my sweats 🙂blog H&M Army coat J Brand Jeans Black Frye Harness Boots-2 blog H&M Army coat J Brand Jeans Black Frye Harness Boots-3Oh, but wait…at least we don’t match!1Maya 103 weeks rain boots vest-1On me…

Fun with the fog…or really, just having fun :)

I have been LOVING all the fog we’ve been having here in Seattle.  It’s SO much fun to photograph!  Clients always get excited by sun (so limiting for pictures!), but fog…love it!  Some like sun flare…I like fog flare 😉

You’d think I’d want to wear vibrant colors in the haze, but no….black and gray.  My usual.Blog Doma DL1961 JCrew Converse-1 Blog Doma DL1961 JCrew Converse-2 Blog Doma DL1961 JCrew Converse-3Love that the picture on the left shows the fog rolling in, and the one on the right…it’s passed.  In a matter of minutes! Blog Doma DL1961 JCrew Converse-4Someone found her love of the self timer again.  I let her push the button and she thought it was hilarious.  Everyone (even strangers!) always says how much Maya looks like my husband, but for anyone that knows me…that is SO MY LAUGH!  Love that I captured it.  With a self timer no less 😉 Blog Doma DL1961 JCrew Converse-5 Blog Doma DL1961 JCrew Converse-6 Blog Doma DL1961 JCrew Converse-7 Blog Doma DL1961 JCrew Converse-8Um, see what I mean about the fog??! Having fun with plaid…

Or…just having fun 🙂

Plaid is everywhere now.  It reminds me of the early 90’s when I was slightly obsessed with Eddie Vedder 🙂  Well, instead of just pulling out my old flannel shirts (I know I stored them away somewhere!), I thought I’d try and different twist on the trend…Blog Plaid Patterson Kincaid Joes Jeggings-1 Blog Plaid Patterson Kincaid Joes Jeggings-2 Blog Plaid Patterson Kincaid Joes Jeggings-3Maya wasn’t feeling the “self timer game” so much this day… 🙂 Blog Plaid Patterson Kincaid Joes Jeggings-4 Blog Plaid Patterson Kincaid Joes Jeggings-5 Blog Plaid Patterson Kincaid Joes Jeggings-6

Are we sick of leopard flats? I’m not… :)

I may have already worn these flats a few times, but I love how they add fun to a pretty simple outfit.  Blog Ivory 360 Cashmere Dylan George Coated Leopard Flats-1And…”super mom tip gone bad”  I mentioned before my dislike of taking things to the drycleaner (who has time?!), and my frequent tossing of “dry clean only” items in the wash.  Well, this sweater is 100% cashmere.  I’d washed it on gentle before and it came out great!  Then…it accidentally went into the dryer.  Wah wah wah 😦  I’m actually ok with the length, but am totally bummed that it’s more of a traditional turtleneck than the cowl neck it was before… Oh, well.  I got it on the cheap off eBay (about 90% off!), so I guess I can’t cry over it too much…

All that said.  I layered a little boho tank underneath so it wasn’t too short with these very tight skinny jeans.Blog Ivory 360 Cashmere Dylan George Coated Leopard Flats-2 Blog Ivory 360 Cashmere Dylan George Coated Leopard Flats-3I am SO buying the size up on these when Maya finally grows out of them!!  For $6, I LOVE THEM! Super Mom tip *edited*
For the most part, I wash my cashmere sweaters in the wash on “wool delicate”, but make sure you keep an eagle eye out for when the load is done.  Someone might help and throw it in the dryer 😉  This does NOT work well with regular wool or cashmere blends.  That will fit your child when you are done, which I guess could be a super mom tip on how to find sweaters for you child 🙂

This weather feeds my outfit indecision…

I’m not saying I’m complaining about the weather lately.  That would be stupid.  It’s not raining!!  However, the freezing cold mornings, followed by total sunshine, then rapidly dropping temps again makes it hard to dress accordingly.  So…sometimes there’s a midday outfit change!

Started off wearing this…
