Leather Jacket + Boho Top + Moto Skinnies + Booties

This is my default night out outfit.  The top is nice and flowy.  Not too long, not too short.

These jeans have moto detailing and the seams on the thighs totally suck you in-WIN!!  haha

Bonus points if you read to the end to the “keeping it real”.

DYING.  haha

BUT…the main reason I always buy timeless classic pieces.

On me…

Jacket- Doma (old, similar here)-
Top- Winter Kate “Tiger Lily” top (Nordstrom Rack, similar here and less expensive here)
Jeans- Rag & Bone (thrifted for $6.50!, similar non moto here)
Boots- Paul & Joe (old, but similar here )
Keeping it Real…
One part of the keeping it real is that I took these pictures in April….of 2017!
Whoops…AND…edited that this has been in my drafts FOREVER!  Ok, over two years!  HITTING PUBLISH!
And the downside of running outside to take pictures really quick before going out?  One of my neighbors ALWAYS walks by!!  Ok, I’m actually really lucky if only ONE walks by…
Don’t mind me…

Ground Turkey and Veggie Stuffed Sweet Potato with Avocado // Paleo // Whole30 // Gluten Free

I actually took these pictures the next day as I had the leftovers for my lunch.

Dare I say that it was even better the next day?!

Isn’t that the case with a lot of dishes?  The flavors just need to settle into each other sometimes.  One of the many reasons I always make extra!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon crushed garlic (I cheat and use Trader Joe’s pre crushed :))
  • 1 Teaspoon Crushed Ginger
  • 1 white onion
  • 2 Cups shredded Carrots
  • 2 Cups Diced Mushrooms
  • 2 lbs ground turkey (I like to make a lot so we have leftovers :))
  • Avocado for garnish.  Not necessary, but the creaminess of the avocado was so good with the savoriness of the dish.  Plus…avocado on everything, I say!
  • Jar of your favorite pasta sauce.
  • 2-4 large sweet potatoes.  We all each had just half, but if you only have small sweet potatoes, or love them…do more!

Directions

Start your sweet potatoes ahead of time!!  I’ve tried numerous times, and they ALWAYS take longer than they are supposed to!  This might be the ONE thing that pushes me over the edge to finally try my Instapot….that has been sitting there unused for the last two years, because I’m scared of it haha.  BUT…

  • Place sweet potatoes on a baking sheet or a baking pan, pierce with a fork and bake for an hour, or until the inside is soft.  It took my ginormous ones an hour and 15, so fair warning if you are on a time schedule for dinner!! 😦
  • Dice up onion while your potatoes are cooking…you’ll have plenty of time 😉
  • Sautee 2 Tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil with garlic, ginger, and onions for about 5 minutes.
  • Add in ground turkey (or any ground meat!)
  • Add in diced mushrooms
  • Add in shredded carrots
  • Either add Trader Joe’s “Everyday Seasoning” or…add all the things…I’m lazy.
  • Add in your pasta sauce.
  • When potatoes are done, take them out, cut in half if big, or slice down the center if small or medium.  Crush it up a little.
  • Spoon on meat and veggie mixture, and top with avocado!

Enjoy!dit-elle-Lauren

Vintage Levis Jacket + Stripes + High Waisted Destroyed White + Clogs

Took these super quick one day.

Ok, that day was last year.

Like 3 minutes from the first shot to the last haha.

It’s easy to say now that I took these in 3 minutes…it was easy!  But…I can’t even manage to run outside for 3 minutes now!  And clearly…didn’t have time to blog these even though they took me 3 minutes to take.

This is my total transitional weather outfit.  Whether that’s fall or spring.

Lightweight long sleeve top (usually striped ha!), denim jacket, destroyed jeans, and comfy clogs.

And, who else thinks the no white after Labor Day is a joke?

I CAN’T EVEN IMAGINE!

On me…

Jacket- Levi’s (thrifted, similar here)
Top- LNA (thrifted, similar here)
Clogs- Kork Ease “Zamora ”  (eBay, similar here)
Keeping it Real…
Not many outtakes when all I took was 7 images!  I did take a shot from behind that wasn’t very
flattering, BUT(T!) it’s not getting posted 😉

Leather Jacket + Open Back Blouse + High Waisted Skinnies + Leopard Booties ( Date Night! )

A few weeks ago, I met the Huz downtown to go out and celebrate his birthday.

(edited to add…the Huz’s birthday was in January….)

I managed to run outside really quick before I left to take some pics, which NEVER happens!!

I loooooove the back of this top!  And it works super well with a high waisted jean! I love it even more that it looks a little prim and proper from the front, and then you turn around… I even managed to lure Maya outside for a few!  Messy after school hair and all 🙂 Gah, love her!

On me…

Jacket- Bod Christenson (eBay, similar here)
Top- Astr (old, similar here)
Boots- Kimchi Blue (Thrifted for $7!!! sold out, similar here)
On Maya…
Sweater- Peek (thrifted)
Jeans- DL1961 (eBay)

Leather Jacket + Stripes + High Waisted Raw Hem Flares + Leopard Booties | Date Night!

I took these last November really quickly before we went out on a date night.  I’ll just pretend it’s what I wore last night when we had a quick happy hour dinner while Maya had soccer practice.

We often walk to one of our neighborhood restaurants, so comfy shoes are usually needed.  I feel like leopard adds an instant element of fun though, so…perfect for date night!

I also love mixing stripes and leopard!  They are both such classic prints that go with everything!

On me…

Leather Jacket- Bod & Christensen “Rebecca” (eBay similar here, and faux leather here)
Sweater- Club Monaco  (thrifted)
Belt- Thrifted, similar here.
Jeans- 3×1 (ebay)
Shoes- Vans (thrifted, similar here)
Keeping it Real…
When I take pics of just me, there are rarely outtakes.  I just get it done in like 5 minutes.
OMG, I just looked back at the time stamp, and it was only 1 minute 40 seconds ha!

Sherpa Coats + Bodysuits + High Waisted Wide Legged Jeans + Dr. Martens for ALL!

I’ve been SO behind on blogging, that I went through my drafts tonight…

This popped up, and these are from JANUARY!

HAHAHA, I’m used to being behind now, but…ugh.  I have SO many pictures that I’ve never blogged, and I don’t even care if they are almost a year late.  The whole point of this blog was to capture US.  And of course also to capture my love of fashion…None of that has changed in the last year, so…I’m posting!

I’m a self proclaimed denim addict.  I can’t get enough…

High rise crop flares are my fav right now (and that hasn’t changed since January!!), but there are still SO many options!

I’ve been coveting this particular pair, and when I finally scored a pair on eBay I was so excited!  I got them for $20 + shipping-WHAT (retail for $198 and super hot right now-even resale)!!

I’m usually in between a 26 and a 27.  These are a 27, and I really want to find a 26 now.  I do love the oversized look, but would love to find a pair that’s more fitted.  So, as an fyi, these run big in my opinion. When wearing super wide and oversized on the bottom, I try and go tight and/or cropped on top.  It’s still pretty cold here in Seattle, so layering is still key.  I need to wear a bra with this low back bodysuit, so I went with a thick back bralette that I got on Amazon a while back! You know I love some shoe shots!!
And shots of US!!
GAH!!  Just seeing her looking so much younger here!
On me…

Jeans- DL1961 “Hepburn” (eBay, similar here)
Shoes- Dr. Martens (thrifted)
On Maya…
Hat- (thrifted)
Jacket- Zara Kids (thrifted, but similar here)
Top- Crewcuts (thrifted, similar here)
Shoes- Dr Martens “Delayney” (thrifted)

When I ask Maya what we should do…
Yeah…this dude was just chilling in his lawn chair watching the water…don’t mind us!
We are just tripping over ourselves ha!
How I shot the images of us on the stairs.

Woodland Pixie | Maya’s Halloween outfit 2019

So, I didn’t get in these this year…
I’ve made mild attempts in the past years, but October is my crazy busiest month for work, and this year has been even busier.  I’ve had no time for…well, just about anything.  BUT…I’m determined to still do all the normal stuff for Maya, and attempt to capture it!!
We literally had 5 minutes before Houston was going to take Maya up to his parents house to visit for a few minutes before we ate dinner and then trick or treated. I still can’t believe this was just a branch we grabbed that had fallen down in a storm! I just wound it around and tied a bow in it. Literally…less than a minute, done. ALSO…can’t believe it was slightly warm enough to get a pic without her coat!
This LIGHT!!!
This dress is actually an adult size ballet costume that I thrifted probably 3-4 year ago! Maya hadn’t been that keen on it, but she loved the idea of it for this costume-yay for hoarding haha!! I had to knot it up in the back to make it fit. This last one is so good.  Honestly, I LOVE it, but it’s also indicative of her feelings…
“Are we done yet…?”
On Maya…
Crown- DIY (Literally wrapped a branch we found on a walk around a few times!)
Jacket- Marks & Spencer (thrifted, similar here)
Dress- Adult ballet costume, cinched to fit (thrifted)
Boots- Joy Folie (thrifted)
Keeping it Real…
There was lots of “throwing the basket around” attempts…
None of them succeeded…
But, I admire the thought!!

3 Generations…Girls Night Out! | Aqua by El Gaucho

My dad decided a while back that he wanted to do a boys night out with Houston, the boys, and Houston’s dad.

Great idea!!

Oh, but, WAIT!!

Then, my mom suggested that us girls should go out too!  Sadly, my mother in law couldn’t join us, but my mom, Maya and I went out!

Such a special evening. Of course…we’re girls and we used it as an excuse to get dressed up! As we should.

The food was AMAZING! I cannot believe I’ve never been to AQUA by El Gaucho . The food was delicious, views were gorgeous, service was exceptional, and the company…beyond words.

Thanks Mom! ❤️

A few pics we snapped before we hopped into our Uber!

Uber car selfie for the win!

And, Maya took the image of me with my mom!
I mean…

Coloring!

YUMMY FOOD!!
And bathroom selfies! 🙂
I ran outside before the boys left to see if they’d at least let me take a picture with my phone, but…

This was all I got.

THANKFULLY they had their picture taken at the meal!

Gray Long Cardigans + Striped Knotted Tee + Wide leg Raw Hem Culotts + Birkenstocks | Transitional Dressing

Spring casual… .OMG, edited to add…Fall casual??

The beauty of Seattle is that fall trends and spring trends sometimes can look the same!  The trees are a lot greener here in these images than now in fall, but…whatever.

Can we just pretend?

I’m tired of only having special occasions on here!  SOOO…this was back in spring when we took pics for fun.

Variations of this look on repeat!
🤷🏼‍♀️
Jeans + Fun tee + Cardigan for when the weather inevitably changes 87 times during the day.
👌🏻
This past Saturday, we went to the gym, went swimming, hit a local thrift store, and the Huz grilled dinner. 🙌🏻

All in all, my perfect Saturday 🙂 . AND…the same, spring, summer, fall, and winter!
❤️

Maya actually hopped behind the camera while it was on the tripod and snapped these first ones!

Aiming to post ALL THE POSTS while I have a break in my work schedule!
I had to lure her from behind the camera!!
THIS is why I do this blog!!!

To show her these images…

When all she wants to remember is me yelling at her, I need proof of the fact that most of the time, we had fun and loved on each other.
One of the MANY things I love, is that she still always reaches for my hand.  I’m sure the years are limited for that happening, but I will treasure it for as long as I can!!
She also still happily sits on my lap 🙂
Pretty much and every day occurence.  NOT on my lap on the sidewalk!!  But us laughing together, and it’s my favorite part of my day.

On me…

Sweater- Splendid (eBay, similar here)
Jeans- NSF “Culotte” in Jopelin (eBay for $14)
Sandals- Birkenstock “Gizeh” (thrifted, like new for $25!!)
On Maya…
Sweater- GapKids (thrifted, but similar here)
Jumpsuit- Tucker & Tate (thrifted, but similar here)
Shoes- Birkenstock “Rio” (eBay)
Keeping it Real…
The only bad thing about Maya behind the camera, is that she KEEPS ON SHOOTING even after I’ve said “Ok!!  56 clicks is ENOUGH!!”  haha.
(all pictures taken with a shutter release and tripod, except ones of Maya :))

Le Diner En Blanc | Seattle 2019

Le Dîner en Blanc was actually on July 25th, 2019, but…(broken record time) . I haven’t had time to blog them until now.

I had 3 shoots get rained out this weekend (ugh!!), but I actually have a little time to spare while I upload a bunch of other client galleries.

I didn’t have time to take pics before the event, and honestly still was undecided on what I was going to wear until about 20 minutes before we left (as per usual!)!

SO…a few mornings later, I put my dress back on, and Maya and I ran outside for a few quick pictures!

Can I tell you how excited I was when I realized this dress had POCKETS?  Honestly, that’s what tipped it into the winner category!
This is the quickest, easiest hair do to do in a pinch.  With the elaborate neckline of this dress, I didn’t really want to wear my hair down.  However, I decided on this dress so last minute that I had to do a quick hair adjustment!  I threw one of the flowers from the bouquet we brought, and called it good!
Seriously, one of my new favorite images I’ve taken of us!!!

That sun flare!!  The joy….LOVE!!!
Dying… I LOVE the way it looks like she’s playing with the light in these next ones!
And then looking up at it???  All coincidence haha, but I love it!
I didn’t bring my real camera with me to the event, so the pics I took aren’t the greatest with my phone.

The official pics can be seen here, as well as information about the event.

The official promo video is super cool though, AND we are in there twice!  At minute 1:23 and then again right after dancing in the GIF photo booth (still pick of that at the end of this post)

I ended up going with my friend, because Houston gave it the big thumbs down after hearing all the details haha.

I will admit, that I am SO GLAD I went with a girlfriend.  There is a LOT of prep and planning that goes into it.  You have to bring your own table, chairs, and decorations.  It ALL has to be white!  We also chose to bring our own food, because the meal options didn’t look as appealing.  Honestly, I’m still undecided if we will go that route next year or not…

After all that though, I can honestly say it was so worth it, and SO much fun!!
Here’s our little table spread and food.  Yes, that’s for two of us hahaha.

We shared. 😉
They had a photo booth that did GIFS!  SO FUN!

On me…

Dress- La Vie Rebecca Taylor “Eyelet Shift Dress” (eBay NWT $17, retailed $295!!!)
Shoes- Nine West (traded with a friend! Similar here)
On Maya…
Dress- Cat & Jack (target old)
Keeping it Real…
Well, the real keeping it real is that the first images are from a few days later right before sunrise.  I just twisted my hair again really quick, and didn’t even bother with make up-ha!
And then…I messed up the focusing on the first batch of pictures!!  I can’t really tell on the back of my camera if I’m not wearing my glasses!  We came inside, and I was like “OH NO!  Maya, we gotta go back outside!!) . Let me tell you…she earned some extra ipad time for that 😉
The upside?  When we came back out the sun had risen a little more, and that’s when we go the amazing sun flare!!  SO…HAPPY ACCIDENT!!
So cute though, right?
(all pictures taken with a shutter release and tripod, except ones of Maya :))
