First of all…I am so not a dress girl, but I’m LOVING this dress I found at my local consignment shop. There’s something freeing about buying things with a credit you have. It’s like… “Why not?!” And then…I love it!!
Yes, Maya is in the car next to me eating her lunch 🙂
She’s obsessed with popping my gum bubbles 🙂
Converse rule… 🙂
And then….a little shoe change takes it from day to night! Btw…I didn’t take it from day to night haha. I stayed in the day… The idea was good though, no? AND…I’m thinking this might be my outfit for our family pictures?! Thoughts? Because, I can’t even remember all the things I’ve worn/what I should wear. Suggestions welcome!
And then…

Funny thing about sticks. She loves them, but there was only one Goffrey 2 that stood the test of time (a month+ and a few bandages and band aids). No idea what happened to him. We came back from Napa and he was gone (NO, I am not blaming Meme and BOPO!). But…no stick has lasted more than a walk since him…
Um…are you kidding me with this pose???!
Below is me saying “Maya! You HAVE to stay on the sidewalk. You CANNOT get on or cross over the curb!!” Her “What about aaaaaaaaalmost sitting??” Good Lord, she is so my daughter. Help me! And Dad-SHUSH!!! 🙂

When things don’t go according to plan…sometimes that’s better.
At least that’s what I tell myself. And since I’ll never know what would have happened, I’m right, no? 🙂 We had planned to meet some friends at Remlinger Farms last week. It’s a “farm” that’s about an hour away, that has rides, animals you can pet, a train ride, and overall just sensory overload fun for your toddler. Well…come to find out they are closed during the week in September. They hadn’t updated their website, so they were kind enough to give both my friend and me 4 passes to come back (score!). But…we then had two little girls that were all amped up for an adventure… :{ SO…we went to the closest “park”, Tolt MacDonald Park. Turns out it’s a campground with a super cool suspension bridge! I kind of want to go back and go camping here. I say this as a non camper. They have yerts that you can rent. For those of you not familiar with what a yert is (I had no idea!). It’s a “tent/cabin”. No amenities, but these had flooring and bunkbeds. That is my kind of camping 🙂
I thought Maya might be scared of the bridge. It actually swayed when you were in the middle! But…nope. She ran back and forth from end to end a kazillion times.

Taking a breather… 🙂
I yelled for her to stop, and then was actually kind of impressed that she held her dress up… Sadly, it didn’t matter because she found an even BIGGER puddle which drenched her completely…
Which is why she’s wearing MY shirt in this picture haha 🙂
Later that night (and an outfit change for Maya), we headed over to my parents house (who live a few blocks away). Someone wanted to wear her horse crown. “Mom, look! I’m a horse!”

See? Horse tail 😉

When a T-Shirt says it all…
Every once in a while you find tee shirt that….well, fits you to a T 😉
Protector.Lover.Mother // Always Hungry…Please Feed Me
Yup, I’d say that sums us up 🙂
You might think faux leather shorts are not for going to the beach, but let me tell you….they came in SO handy!! Maya fell into the water not once, not twice, but three times! I got water and sand all over me, but you’d never know! Brushed right off!
“Mommy, I’m running in circles!!” haha

The look on her face here cracks me up!!
This was after the first spill. She ended up running around naked for the last 5-10 minutes, but didn’t want her to hate me too much later on 😉

A little leopard here…A little leopard there…
I really think you can never have too much leopard print in your life. I just recently scored these shoes from ShoeMint when they were having a bunch of their shoes on sale for $25! Yes, these were only $25, and they are so comfy and cute!! Plus, they give you a little length to your leg without being a super tall heel. Overall win in my book!
Seriously, so cute, right?!
Not sure how long I’m going to be able to do these, but I was pretty stoked that I timed this just right 🙂

A little fun before work…
I actually found myself ahead of schedule the other day. I had a shoot during the week, and I found myself with 15 extra minutes before I was taking Maya to a drop in daycare. So…we went outside and danced a little…

Funny story. Maya is going to start preschool next week (so excited!!). Last week, we had a orientation picnic, and there was a list of school supplies we needed to bring. Of course I waited until the day before to go to Target and round everything up. The last thing on the list was a “head shot” of your child. Of all the items on the list, this was the one thing I didn’t have! ME! The professional photographer, who takes pictures of her daughter every day. No head shot. I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time I printed images out. Oh wait, yes I can. Every year at Christmas, I print out a big stack to distribute to family members. Anywho. The night before the picnic I took Maya into our backyard and got these images below. The one right below is the one I printed out. Not at the professional lab I use, but at my local drugstore… #momlife 😉

And for her reward, we ran through sprinklers 🙂

Moto Boots…
Ok, so we’re kind of twinsing again with our boots-whoops!
Oh, and helpful tips for Mamas. Tying this denim shirt around my waist helped keep the dress down/aka made sure I didn’t flash anyone while picking Maya up. 🙂
I think this might be my new favorite picture I’ve taken of us!
So sad that the sun is going down earlier and earlier. Which means our evening walks will soon be coming to an end 😦
Aaaaand, one of my new favorite pictures of Maya. LOVE IT!!!

Brown Suede Booties…
I’ve gotten a little better about not accidentally matching with Maya. If it’s just our boots, I don’t think that really counts though 😉
This looks so sweet, but in reality, she’s saying “Shhhh!” haha 😉
Twinsies 😉
We walked over to my parents house to say hi, and this is Maya running into my mom’s arms. First the cute run…
hahaha. How much do I love how enthusiastically she runs in for a hug? A LOT!!!
We had gone to the zoo earlier in the day. I swear she was more excited about the statues than the real animals 🙂
Looooooove this one!

Sunflowers in the City…
We live in the city, but there’s a house in our neighborhood that always grows large amounts of seasonal things. Maya always comments as we drive by, depending on what’s growing. Right now…it’s large sunflowers. I keep wanting to take pictures by them, and we finally did the other night.

This was the summer for dresses and rompers…
I’ve had this dress for more than 5 years. I’m leaning towards saying 10? I still love it. It’s so easy to throw on in the summer, and the cascading fabric in the front hides the fact that I just ate a big meal. Total win!

hahahaha ???
“Upside down Mommy?!!”

She loves this rock. Wants to run to it every night on our walk. Sometimes it’s a stage…sometimes a bed for resting…other times it’s a jumping platform 🙂 Below was a stage for her to belt out “Let it goooooo”

Sunset on the beach…
This beach is kind of on the down low as far as West Seattle goes. Compared to the much busier Alki Beach. However…when there is a good sunset, not so much. So…we had an audience when we were doing these, hence no shots of me awkwardly posing by myself 😉
A rock in one hand…a stick in another. SO perfectly Maya… 🙂
