Chunky Knits + High Waisted Straight Leg + Sorel Heeled Booties | Cute, comfy, but WARM!

Originally taken November 19th, 2019.

WHOOPS.  Found another one that I’m posting out of order.  This one was in my drafts, so I have NO idea why I never just hit “Publish”…sigh.  Life.

I think it can be super hard to stay fashionable, but also stay comfy and warm.  I spend SO much of my time outside with Maya or with clients, and I need to be comfortable, warm…yet…let’s be honest.  I still want to look cute!

I scored these Sorel boots at Value Village for $28, and they were NWT!  Regularly $275!

I’ve worn them SO many times already!  To school pick up/staying for hours…to a shoot!  Although, the heel height isn’t ideal for running around for an hour…, and even on a date night! Ok, both our faces…HAHA!

If someone has hints on how to jump and not look like…this.

Let me know 🙂
But…the aftermath of a “shot” has always been my goal with clients, and this…
Soooo worth the awkward jump faces!
Oh, and then… #NAILEDIT!
I will never be as cool as her…
THIS is who I know and love!!!
This is who I take pictures of…
Thankfully I can get both when I’m in the shot with her!

Even more of a reason that I miss taking pics of us.
Oooooh!

I’ve been taking sunset silhouette shots at work, and they’ve been something that I LOVE to take!  We actually tried taking this before, but I lost the remote in the dark ha!  Ok, I can laugh about it now… Making sunset can be tricky.  It’s either past Maya’s bedtime, during bedtime ritual, during dinner, during making of dinner, or…during my crazy busy time.

So… I capture my amazing families at the golden hour, but I can’t seem to capture US lately!

To be honest…I’m BURNT OUT when I actually have time to shoot us in between the chaos…

Sunset on the beach…

This beach is kind of on the down low as far as West Seattle goes.  Compared to the much busier Alki Beach.  However…when there is a good sunset, not so much.  So…we had an audience when we were doing these, hence no shots of me awkwardly posing by myself 😉Blog Old Navy Swing Top Edyson Destroyed Skinny Birkenstocks-1 Blog Old Navy Swing Top Edyson Destroyed Skinny Birkenstocks-2A rock in one hand…a stick in another.  SO perfectly Maya… 🙂 Guess Romper Navy Converse High Tops-1Guess Romper Navy Converse High Tops-2Guess Romper Navy Converse High Tops-3Guess Romper Navy Converse High Tops-4Blog West Seattle Sunset-1Guess Romper Navy Converse High Tops-5Blog West Seattle Sunset-2On me…

So, here’s another look at my set up and a refresher on how I take the images of me and me with Maya.  I use that light stand with a stuffed animal at the top to focus on.  Once I’ve locked in my focus, I switch the lens over to manual focus, so it doesn’t change.  I mark where I need to stand, and run over to that spot with Maya.  I’ve got my camera on a tripod a few yards away.  I usually move the light stand completely out of the way, but messed up on this one 😉  Yes, I’m sure people think I’m completely wacko haha.  Oh, well!  One of these days I’ll try and take a video of how it all goes down…. Here’s Maya getting the hang of it all on her own!  And…here’s the original post where I talk about my set up (misses and all!)Blog Old Navy edyson Outtake
