Cape and Boots! Hmmm, now I feel like a cartoon character…

I’ve had these boots for…I don’t even know how long! I’ve only worn them 2-3 times, and never as over the knee. They have the option of folding them down “pirate boot” style, and that’s how I’ve always done it. I just feel too…I don’t know. Self conscious?? Ok, streetwalkerish :{

So, truthfully, this outfit only got as far as the alley haha. But, I had to photograph it to see what it looked like, because I’m loving all the over the knee boots I’m seeing others wear!

Thoughts? Windy much??? Sheesh… I was nervous the tripod would blow over!!I tried to sell these on eBay a few months ago (obviously didn’t sell :|). I accidentally left them in our sun room and the sun bleached them! I’m pretending they’re ombre… 🙂 Then folded down. Which is more my comfort zone… So, up or down? Which do you like better? Or should I just drop them off for donation and be done with them? Then for Maya’s picks. I took these a few days ago when it wasn’t so windy! She is such a funny kid. People often ask if she’s really that happy. 70% of the time…yes, she is 🙂 On me…

I have more black sweaters than anyone in their right mind should have. I mean literally… Being black, they all blend together in my sweater shelf, so I forget what I have!

Anywho…I may have bought another one from Zara… It wasn’t on sale, but at $25.90, I couldn’t pass up the fun button up back!!I am not 100% sure about wearing cropped jeans with booties, but I thought I’d give it a try. Yay or nay?? Isn’t this fun? A reverse cardigan! I realized I hadn’t been doing as many me with Maya pics. That’s mostly because it’s been SO COLD! I have been running outside the minute she goes down for her nap, snapping a few pics with my tripod in 5-10 minutes, then run back inside. The ones I get of her alone are usually earlier in the day and she’s just running around the neighborhood. Too cold to sit still and pose with mom 🙂 Well, I figured I’d give it a go today. I think she forgot how fun the self timer was… Then it was back to balancing… On me…

The Huz’s boss came into town last night from Chicago, and took us out to a nice dinner. I was all excited to get a little dressed up, and even had some options picked out (duh)! Then…got a call a few hours before go time. “So, we got done with our meetings early. He wants to go back to the hotel and change into jeans.”

What?? Jeans? Conservative? BOSS??

So…nothing fancy, but here’s what I wore.And, earlier, this is what M wore.

These were one of the first pairs of 7 for All Mankind jeans that I bought. I think they are 11 years old! They just keep getting softer, and I think they are almost 25% patched up haha. I even wore these throughout my pregnancy!! Probably not the most flattering jeans I own right now, but I don’t care. Paired with a cashmere sweater and wrap-doesn’t get much more comfortable that this 🙂 Oh, you missed these boots? haha 🙂 On me…

I’ve mentioned before that I have an odd obsession with white jeans. The thought of not wearing them in the winter just never occurred to me. Then…I found some for Maya! So, yes, we are twins today. Oh, well. I’m not sure how I feel about the chambray shirt layered under the sweater. I LOVE it when I see others layering up, and I wanted to try it. I felt a little preppy, so I thought adding destroyed jeans and boots would make it more “me”. That’s what I love about fashion. Taking things you like from others and making it your own! Ok, so a while ago I showed two different attempts at wearing these. I wasn’t sold on either one, but they are SO comfy that I thought I’d try again. What we wore for Thanksgiving…

This is what we wore for Thanksgiving. I don’t know why, but for me, Thanksgiving usually means brown and big shocker-COMFY! 😉 No idea why on the brown, but the comfy is a no brainer. Anyway…this is waht we wore. For me-minus the shoes. We hosted, which means no shoes required 🙂 I’ve mentioned it before, but these DL1961 jeans are beyond comfortable. They have a 4 way stretch fabric that moves with you and then bounces back without sagging! Ok, truth be told. I didn’t have time to photograph what I was wearing on the actual day, so I redressed and photographed it the other day haha. I was too busy making pies!! Oh, and photographing the Peanut 🙂 THIS (below) was actually on Thanksgiving. It was totally foggy. My favorite to shoot in! And it was chilly! I had to get ONE picture of her dress before layering her up! I got these Gap boots for $2.75 at a thrift store last week. I was worried that they wouldn’t go with much, but they go with everything! You will see these A LOT in the next week or so :). On me…

Tis the season…for holiday parties!

I’ll admit. I didn’t wear this to a holiday party….yet! I thought it might be fun to do a few posts a week this month on “fancier” clothes, because this is the season when a parties/get togethers could be sprung on you last minute! I like to be prepared. That is why I have a ridiculous amount of party dresses on hand “just in case” haha. I snap up timeless dresses (or not so timeless if the price is right) all the time, because you KNOW that when you are in a bind and looking…there’s nothing to be found. Funny thing is. I’m not inherently a dress girl. My comfort zone is pants. For some reason, dresses make me feel…vulnerable? Something I don’t like to be. Anywho…here’s dress #1 with two shoe options. I couldn’t decide which one I liked better.

Oddly enough, the Huz readily agreed to take these pictures. Hmmm, shocking 🙂

Please forgive the ghostly pale legs. I do live in Seattle…I love this dress, because the black and white print is pretty timeless. You can mix in any number of pops of color, or just stay with classic black. Or boots?? This is for sure what I feel more comfortable in, although I LOVE green… So, which do you like better? Heels or boots?Then, like I could leave Maya out! I am a total sucker for a deal. In fact, I almost never pay full price for anything! The thought of fighting the crowds at stores makes me want to poke my eyes out, but sitting online perusing all the fabulous deals? It’s my weakness 🙂

H&M has a ton of ridiculous markdowns on some simple staples. Zara very rarely has sales. I had to check it out… 🙂 Love this fun top. I was DYING over all their kids stuff, but it’s still more than I’m willing to pay for clothes that Maya will only wear for a few months… And the best for last!
