I’ve mentioned before my love of flares. It’s such a nice change from skinny jeans all the time. However, usually they are super long, and I have to wear heels. So…usually I just save them for the occasional date night or girls night out. Well, I thrifted this pair last Friday for $5!!! And…even better they are the perfect length for me to wear flats-SCORE!!
Maya said she wanted me to throw her.
Me- “How high?”
M- “Way high up in the sky!!”
She’ll have to settle for above my head haha. I swear it still surprises me when I capture these with the self timer. I actually caught a few this time!
“Mom, you chase me and try to tickle me!” Ok… 🙂
And then….truth be told. I took these next ones over a month ago. We had tried to catch the sun before it went down, but since we can never leave the house without about 20 delays, we got down to the beach after the sun had set. At 4:30pm mind you 😦 So, I didn’t even bother trying to take picks of me or me with Maya, and let her just run around and have fun. I’ve been dying to blog them, but never got around to it! THEN the other day, Maya decided she wanted to wear this dress again, so I figured I merge the two posts!! 🙂
LOVE her little smile!!!
And…she’s off!
Right after this one, she took off running again….into the water. Lovely. 😉
As I went to look up this dress for this post, I found out it retails for $84!!! SAY WHAT!?!?!?! I knew when I found it, that it was SUPER well made. The fabric is so thick, yet soft and stretchy. And all those ruffly details?? But…I had NO idea how expensive it was. Kind of regretting letting her wear it to preschool and to play on the beach, BUT…I only paid $1.50 (YES!!!!!), so I guess it really doesn’t matter. One of the many reasons I love thrifting!!

On me…
Didn’t quite catch this one in time 😉

Then my sister in law took a few of us, which is RARE!
It’s not very often I get this guy in front of the camera! Honestly, part of that is because he’s constantly busting his ass for me and the 3 kidddos. He’s the yin to my yang and is constantly keeping me loved and sane! Thankful doesn’t even begin to describe…
And then I grabbed these with the self timer and tripod…
I am thankful for…your morning snuggles (usually the best part of my day), all the other kisses and hugs that get me through the day, the out of nowhere laughter you bring with your amazing wit, the way you keep me on my toes (as your teacher said “Never a dull moment with that one huh?”, the fact that you will lay by my desk chair and color happily while I edit (love having you close, watching your skills improve, while I get to work), the fact that every time I drop you off somewhere, you happily say good bye then say “WAIT! I need a hug and a kiss!!!” Sometimes twice 😍, but…. Most of all, I’m so thankful I get to be your Mama and get to watch you become he amazing little girl that you are.
I barely got any of Maya alone, because she was so overwhelmed with family!!
This one of her and her cousin is so freaking cute though!
Honestly, I got a lot of other cute ones, but I often feel weird about sharing other family member’s images on here that haven’t really signed up for public sharing…
(Images of just me and Maya taken with a self timer and tripod, but ones of me and me and the Huz were taken by my sister in law and Huz-manual camera settings set by me :)-)
Then, it started raining. I really didn’t want to waste time with the tripod and Maya, so my mom came out and snapped a few of us.
But then as the rain kept coming, she realized how cold she was 😉
As we were walking home, Maya goes.
During the day she wore these socks scrunched down, but on the way home it was cold! So…I pulled them up. It’s a very Pippy Longstocking look haha.
Catching rain drops…
Every time we leave my parent’s house Maya gets goldfish. The number always corresponds with her age.
If you look close, you can see all the rain coming down…. Thankfully, we only live a few blocks away 🙂

This is one of my favorite parks to go to. It’s gorgeous, and yet nobody really ever goes here so we have it all to ourselves most of the time!
So, we had this completely random sunny day…in NOVEMBER!! We started out all bundled up, and then…
I know I’m biased, but I am always just so in awe of her happy spirit. She seriously has the most fun, and is such a joyful little person!! Ok, not ALL the time, but a good portion of it. I LOVE IT, and I honestly feel so lucky to be around it all the time 🙂
I mean….

I love the fringe details on this sweater vest. Makes it a little fun and boho, yet it still looks somewhat professional (I think ;))
Truth be told, the shoot was supposed to be in the morning, and I wasn’t sure if I’d have time to take a shower. So….I just did a twisted bun and called it good. But then, it got pushed back a few hours and I got to take a shower. I think we were all happy about that haha.

And…her face in about 80% of these shots, because she HAD to have a piece of gum before going outside… 🙂
What you need…
It’s been so cold and blustery here in Seattle. 2 bowls of this, and a cozy blanket just sounded like heaven. And..it was 🙂
Ps- Don’t be afraid to let your children help you. Maya wanted to help me stir, and at first I thought about all the different ways she could make a mess-PASTA SAUCE! Then…I put an apron on her and let her. Her exact words.
(taken with my phone) And the hand behind her back?? LOVE!!!
On Maya, I usually do 2-3 different layers. She goes from being cold to hot from running around all day!
A few weeks ago, Maya sweet talked us into going back to
I mean…are you kidding me with that smile??
Last time we went, she only wanted to go on rides with the Huz. I managed to convince her to let me go on a few with her this time 🙂
Although, these are my favorites!!! Maya’s too. She asks to go on the “Chocolate Roller Coaster” haha. I tried to be creative in my crop to not include other ride goers… Seriously, dying. LOVE!
This picture just makes me itch 😉
Her first car drive!! 😉
On me…
And…these Vintage Frye boots that I thrifted for $2.80!!?? Say, WHAT?!!! Honestly, I was being good and getting them for a friend of mine who is a 7 1/2. I was so excited to tell her! Then I realized that someone had put them in the women’s section by mistake, and in reality, they were a men’s 7 1/2… YAY ME!!!! Sad day for my friend though 🙂
Might be one of my new favorite pictures of us 🙂
Every once in a while, I time one of these just right with the self timer. Scroll down to see just one of the out takes 😉
How gorgeous is this little park? And…I kid you not. I just yesterday had a client email me and ask if I wanted to do their family shoot here-YES!!!!
A family coming down. Maya is the welcome wagon. 🙂
Sometimes I worry about how friendly she is to strangers… But, I think she knows. Who is good and who is not. At least, I hope so.
Because…she loves putting on a show for them 🙂
A few landscape shots. Not my usual thing, but are you kidding me with these clouds and light??!

A jump shot that wasn’t timed so well 😉
She literally tried to climb up me!!
DYING!!!!
On me…
