I had so many pairs of Levi’s both in high school (pegged and rolled!!), and then in college (cut offs, still have them/wearing them 20 years later…) They are classic. Funny that when the low rise trend first came out, I thought I’d NEVER wear Levi’s again unless it was to work to do house projects (sadly most of my old cut offs have paint on them now :()

Leather + Silk in the summer? Yes…day to night!
I have had these leather shorts since last year?? I’ve wanted to wear them, but just couldn’t bring myself to find the occasion. I mean…leather shorts?? When? Where? I see other people wearing them, and I LOVE them every single time I see them! When I bought them, I kidded myself that they could be worn anywhere! But…I rarely wear shorts. Unless they are cut offs… So, they’ve been sitting in my closet.
And then…WhoWhatWear put out another Summer style challenge. I did all 30 days last time, but I’m not sure I’ll have the time to do them all this time. One of the days though, was Day 13 try wearing a leather and silk combination… They showed a leather jacket with a silk dress, but I already did that here. Seemed the perfect time to work in my shorts I’ve been dying to wear! And, really, it seemed the perfect day to night post too!
Starting with the night, because these heels weren’t going to be worn for long on our walk haha.
I always see other people wearing heels with shorts, and I think it looks amazing. I always feel self conscious… Probably because I’m 6 feet tall when I wear them! Ps-can you spot Maya? 🙂
The nice thing about these is the platform. Makes them actually pretty comfy, and not that high.
And then into what is more comfy 🙂

Easy Swing Tank + Cut offs = Summer Uniform
While I like to experiment, and have fun trying new things to wear…chances are, most days I’m wearing a swing tank and cut offs. Now that I’ve gone scissor crazy on a few pairs for Maya, she will too! Of course on the days I can talk her out of wearing a “Princess Dress” aka…all dresses 🙂
It’s also been pretty hot here. I am going to try and not complain, but there’s a reason I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for most of my life. I like the cooler temperatures. I actually like the rain! And…can we talk about the chore of slathering up in sunscreen?? I really can’t wait for someone to invent a pill or drink that provides all over sunscreen!! All that said, I LOOOOVE warm nights, and taking walks after dinner!! The Huz has been home the last few nights, so we were lucky enough to have him come with us and snap our pics vs the usual tripod and self timer!
Me watching Maya roll down our neighbors hill… 🙂
Can I just say how much I love swing tops? They hide things you don’t want to show (I wore this through out my pregnancy and after!), yet they drape well and are flattering on almost every body type!
And…there she goes again! 🙂
Love that I caught her mid air!!
“RRRROAR!!!” Trying to scare Daddy 🙂
Hahaha. Love this one!
The whole purpose of this walk was to go retrieve Goffrey2. He had been dropped on our morning walk. I kept trying to pick him up, but Maya insisted that he stay there and sleep. Then, was asking where he was all day…

Once again…thrifting for the win! :)
I honestly didn’t even plan on making this an all thrifted outfit for both me and Maya, but chances are…that’s going to happen more often than not 🙂 I’m sure it’s pretty obvious by now that I’m not really a dress person. In my mind, I feel way more comfortable in jeans and a tee, but whenever I actually wear a dress…I love it! The Huz loved this dress the minute I tried it on for him. It’s totally fitted (hence the Huz loving it!), so I threw on a denim shirt to make me feel a little less self conscious. The material is ridiculously soft and comfortable, and I love how the Converse make it more casual. Perfect for our night time walk around the neighborhood…
Total outfit= less than $15 🙂
Meet the new Goffrey. The old Goffrey broke in half. He’s still on our front porch, but she only takes him on the occasional walk now 🙂
So, Maya asked to “Fly, up in the air?”, which she often does. Bad thing is that she now kicks her feet out and often times clocks me in the face… :{
“UP IN THE AIR!!”
That’ll show her 😉

Happy 4th of July!
Cannot wait for the 4th of July parade later today. I think this will be the first year that Maya really gets excited about it. She was still a little oblivious about it last year.
Pretty sure she still won’t be excited about the fireworks though…

Red, white, and Blue // A few days early :)
Red just looks good with white and blue…period. And, I never think twice about it, until I’m nearing 4th of July, yet…it’s NOT 4th of July. Then I feel a little weird. I was this close to wearing red shoes, but changed them at the last minute. I left Maya’s on though 🙂
“Hi Charlie, HI!!!!” Seeing her brother walking towards us with Max 🙂
I mean…doesn’t get much cuter than this.

Dropwaist Dress + Booties
I scored this Juicy Couture tunic off of ThredUp for $9! Honestly, I got a few things for both me and Maya. I had a $10 credit for referring someone (they got $10 too-WIN!! You can too by clicking the link above), so basically it was free! I swear I’m always so impressed when I get a box from them. They say everything is “practically new”, and it totally is! There have been a few times when there was a slight flaw (that I would barely notice), and they either sent it anyway (at no charge!) or took it off my order if it wasn’t up to par. MOST times I’m even more impressed with the item in person than from the pictures! Anywho…
It’s so easy to throw on and go. I paired it with another pair of DIY 7FAM cutoffs that were less than $7 at the thriftstore because of a bad hem job. I’d been wanting to try out a longer cut off and these were the perfect pair to do it with.
Making sure Dita (Maya’s stick) got some water to drink 😉
I am SO BAD about printing images. I mean, how do I chose??!! I think this one might make the cut…
I had to break it to her that this stick was too big to come home with us 🙂

White Tee + Ripped Jeans
There’s something about the simple combination of a white tee with ripped jeans. It’s a classic combination that I don’t see ever going out of style.
I love adding a little twist to the classic, and I am a total sucker for a cowl neck. I love the draping…
I’ve worn these jeans a number of times on the blog. I love the easy comfort of jeans that are a few sizes too big. These are the classic boot cut, but rolled and a few sizes too big, they totally feel like a boyfriend style.
3 out of the five of these earrings are Gorjana. LOVE the simplicity of her jewelry! You can barely see, but the circle disc has a “m” on it 🙂 If you sign up to get emails from them, you’ll get sale notifications. At the end of seasons, items can go up to 80% off!!
Hahaha. Maya loooooves a good kiss 😉
Goffrey and Dita came with us to my parents house for dinner 🙂

Fun day at the park…
With Goffrey and Dita (Maya’s sticks ;))

Cutoffs are always so perfect in the summer. A way to get them on the cheap is at the thrift store (duh :)). Look for your favorite jeans in a size or two larger than you normally wear. That way they are looser and more comfy. If you find some that have a hack job hem or that have been worn at the bottom from dragging, those are usually marked down pretty cheap. Perfect to turn into cut offs! You can even do some DIY distressing like I did here. Or, I’m sure everyone has a pair of jeans in their closet that they never wear anymore. Perfect way to give them a new lease on life!
Let’s pretend my legs aren’t ghostly pale… :{

Summer Whites…
Ever since I first blogged this shirt dress, I’ve been wanting to wear it over white jeans. Finally did it over the weekend, and I love how easy and comfy it was. But really, anything with white jeans is a win in my book 🙂
Love these fun shoes. They’re from Forever21 for $12!
“Ice skating Mom?!” Sure, why not 😉

This stick’s name is “Goffrey” (named by Maya ;)). She found him on our morning walk earlier this week, and he has come on every walk since. Normally, she picks up sticks here and there, but then drops them or throws them in some body of water. They’ve never stuck with us for more than 30 minutes and certainly didn’t get named! Goffrey has stood the test of time! Kind of impressed. She even stops (muuuuuultiple times) to feed him grass, dirt, and leaves 🙂
And THEN! Goffrey needed a mate. SO…this is “Dita” Yes, she named them both, and we still have Dita on our front porch too! They both have gone on a morning walk since and a trip to a park where Goffrey got snapped in half :{. Dita now replaced Goffrey as the favorite…
