Ok, not THAT backside, but obviously I am drawn to tops that have interesting backs. I also love taking pictures from behind, so maybe there’s a thing going on there?
All that to say. This Ella Moss sweater is nice from the front…But, then… I thrifted these super comfy, yet fun shoes for $3.50! I’m kind of excited whenever I find a pair of shoes that I can wear to shoot a wedding. I ran errands and was on my feet most of the day in these, and my feet never hurt! Love that they have a tiny bit of a heel too 🙂Yes, I think she is soooo ready for dance class, and so am I!! I cannot wait to get her in a leotard!! :} On me…
Top- Ella Moss (Nordstrom Rack-sold out, but loooooving this one!)
I’ve talked before on many posts about my love of white denim. I have no problem wearing them all year long, but there is something extra good about wearing them on a warm summer evening…I also love a good silk top, but they really aren’t all that practical or fun when you are playing with your kids-wrinkles (insert fist shake!) This top is 100% pure fine polyester haha 🙂 And you know what…NO WRINKLES (insert fist pump!)
See? Fist pump!! Ok, really…”Tickle me?!!” 🙂hahaha. This is such a Maya move right now. The little foot kick 🙂 I love that she will just bust out dancing in the middle of the sidewalk. I know that will change eventually, but I hope it’s not for a while…On me…
Seriously, these pants are so comfy, and they are so perfect when you need to wipe off mud from carrying your toddler! Showing off our Dancing with the Stars moves 😉 And…she’s off!! There was this little creek, and she kept running up to the path to get rocks to throw in it. Over, and over, and over… 🙂 “Rocks kissing” On me…
I may be the only person still wearing boot-cut jeans these days.. but I had to retire some pairs of jeans recently and in a pinch one day (it was a classic day in our house where laundry was back-logged, I didn’t have time to go on a hunt for the perfect pair of jeans, and didn’t want to spend a fortune either..) so I dusted off this pair of Silver jeans which were too long and had been sitting in my closet for a few years..
I hemmed them using a quick and easy, no-cut, technique – this is not the “fold under and sew” way, which removes the bottom edge!
First put jeans on and measure exactly how much you need to shorten them by. For example if you want to take an inch off, you’ll fold up a big cuff and then pin the 1″ into the bottom portion of the cuff (1/2″ front/back). Once you’ve pinned it, turn the cuff down, try the jeans back on to make sure the seam is going to hit where you want it and the length is good.
Fold up jeans as shown – your seam will be where the legs get shortened – so determine first how much you are needing to hem them by. I took an inch off these.
After you’ve sewn the cuff inside out, fold it over and sew a security seam to pin down the fold and create an edgier look (also see above).
Once sewn, flatten, pin the fold downward and sew another security seam to create a bit of an edge and set the fold.
Yup…all black again. Well, at least my feet had some fun. I have a thing for red shoes. They can take a completely simple outfit and make it so much better. These were another thrift score win-$3 🙂 I love the look on her face here, and those little fingers?? Love it! She does little finger gestures all the time…so cute 🙂 On me…
I’m on the hunt for the perfect super wide pants. When I saw these railroad striped Hudson’s at a thrift store for $7, I was in love! She was so freaking cute trying to sneak up on this seagull. Sadly, she wasn’t stealthy enough… Watching all the geese with their babies… And then…rocks! Duh 🙂 I keep buying Maya Levi’s whenever I find them at a thrift store for a few bucks, with the idea that I will cut them into baby cut offs (I just might die from the cuteness!!!), but then…I end up liking them on her as is and haven’t cut a single pair ;/ These little crop boyfriend cut? LOVE!I could just eat her up! Admittedly not the best shoes to wear on a rocky beach, but no ankles were broken in the making of these photos 🙂 Check out the size of that rock!! Go Maya! On me…
Shirt- Joie (sold out, but similar here and less expensive here)
Maya went chasing another sea gull, but this time over slimy rocky seaweed… Do I need to tell you how that ended? Thank goodness she was fine, I didn’t fall and break my neck racing after her to pick her up, and… for Oxy Clean! 🙂
(all pictures taken with a self timer and tripod, except ones of Maya :))
Back before I had a toddler to chase, a baby to bounce, a dog to walk, meals to prepare.. oh a blog, haha! What did I do with all my time!? 🙂 Well, I did a bit of knitting now and then. I loved making this one-button rectangle wrap scarf – wear it as a wrap around shoulders or double wrap around your neck. I can dig up a pattern if anyone is interested, but it truly is as “simple” as knitting a large rectangle (bulky yarn = fast!), making one button hole and fastening a decorative button. I used a merino wool/cashmere blend for super cozy winter warmth, but you could use any yarn you fancy! 🙂
