For $9, I took this relatively simple and casual outfit, and dressed it up ($4 for the vintage silk scarf, and $5 for the sandals). I scored this super cute vintage silk scarf while I was on my girls trip. I keep wanting to figure out how to wear it in my hair, and a) have it stay put b) not look like I’m totally trying too hard. So far, I haven’t succeeded in either of those, so…instead I wore it as a belt! 🙂
This was supposed to be a hug. Maya had other plans. Does she think she’s in the circus??
Maya calls this her “Rapunzel dress”. I have no idea why, but I totally know what one she means when she asks to wear it. I usually say no (it’s silk…), but since she’d been super sick for the past 4 days, I said yes. Truth be told. Getting out of our self imposed lock down to play dress up for a little bit sounded really nice.
Oh, you’re going over there? I see…
I know how to get her back though 😉
She’s obsessed with other people’s mail boxes!!
And…my jewelry as of late. She found this bracelet of mine and carries it/wears it everywhere. It’s a cuff, and I bent it so it closed. It aaaaalmost fits her.
Telling our neighbors how old she is. Nope, not 6…just a double dose of 3!

Mother’s Day 2015
Every year, both my mom and I ask for one thing on Mother’s Day. Pictures. The apple doesn’t fall far haha.
I got soooo much more though, and it truly was the perfect day. Maya and I started off going for a morning walk with my parents while the Huz got some work done (and snuck away to Pike Place to get both me and my mom gorgeous flowers!). Then, we took a little day trip to Snoqualmie Falls. Came home in time for Maya to “nap” 😉 while I got some work done, then my parents came over for an AMAZING dinner the Huz prepared. Couldn’t have asked for a better day…
I ditched the tripod and my mom got these of me and Maya before dinner.Btw, my entire outfit is thrifted, and the total cost was around $20! 🙂
This looks super sweet, but she’s just about to bite my nose haha. 😉
I could just eat her up!!!
And then my dad got these of the three of us. That little smirk KILLS ME!!
After dinner and a liiiittle wine, we all came back outside. I switched up Maya’s sweater so that she would match the Huz 🙂
Dancing with Daddy 🙂
The Huz finally got on the receiving end of Maya’s licking kisses 🙂
And then my mom got a few of me and the Huz.
LOVE this one.
Yeah, Maya wanted nothing to do with getting in a pic with us.
But you couldn’t get her OUT of the pictures I was trying to take of my parents hahaha. She’s actually in the one above this too, but I zoomed in and cropped her out 😉

When you find the perfect item at the thrift store…
I’ll admit. I buy more than I should when I’m thrifting. I mean, when things are only a few dollars it’s hard NOT TO!! However, when you find something you LOVE or something you’ve been looking for…total WIN! I’m a total sucker for white boho tops, and I found this one the other week for $3.50! I love the seams and the fluttery bottom!I have to tell you. Twirling shots with a self timer are less than graceful. I got plenty of strange looks haha. But I really wanted to show how cool this top was. 🙂
She kept getting sand in her sandals and wanting to take them off. By summer end, she’ll not even notice, or will be forever barefoot. I just worry about all the sharp shells and glass, so I make her keep something on :{
And THEN…I found these Salt Water Sandals for Maya for $1.20!!!! That’s UNHEARD OF! I couldn’t believe my luck! I’ve been wanting to get her a pair forever!! Now…I just need to score a pair in my size! 🙂
And this adorable romper was 40% off clearance. I rarely ever by things retail, but this was too good to pass up. And…I may have gotten it in two colors 🙂
Love, love, LOVE this next one!
That belly!!!!
And…THAT SMILE!!!
On me…
Romper- GapKids “Starry Romper”
Shoes- SaltWater “Surfer” (thrifted for $1.25!!!))
Skinny Boyfriend Jeans…kind of.
One of my biggest rules of thumbs when shopping (especially in thrift stores), is don’t be afraid to look outside your normal size or section! I got these 7FAM skinny jeans two sizes bigger than I normally wear, and they are the perfect skinny boyfriend jean on me! I took the first two pics outside of our house while Maya was in preschool. I wasn’t sure if we would have time to go to the beach later, but…we did!
And then…it got too hot for my jacket. Seriously, what is going on Seattle?!! Not complaining though!
Double rock throw!! Pretty impressive 😉
Singing….roaring…a little of both?
Looking for cool shells.
And finding some! 🙂

DIY Ripped Denim, Vintage Clogs and Purse = Thrift Store Scores!
I actually took these a while ago during a random sunny (albeit WINDY AND COLD) day.
Ps- Can you spy the Space Needle? I had a hard time getting us both in the frame 😉Do you have a pair of straight leg denim that you don’t know what to do with? It’s kind of a weird cut for me, BUT I often find them at the thrift stores for so cheap, so really…I have to, right?! I usually just cuff or roll them (my answer to just about every jean, since my legs are so short!), but I got this pair of ridiculously comfy 7FAM straight leg jeans for $7.50! I knew that I wouldn’t wear them as is, so, I cut off the hem to my favorite length (measured off a pair that I love), and then cut/distressed them a little. I’ve worn them SO many times now since!
Yeah, this is the self conscious laugh of someone who is taking pics with a tripod on a busy path with people walking by making comments (don’t mind me!!) 😉
ps-this entire outfit was $38! But…the most expensive part (the vintage clogs for $19), I got for “free” with a credit I had at my consignment store! Whoop whoop!
It LOOKS sunny and warm, but…it wasn’t. It was at our house, but when we got down to the water? Not so much. Maya had been in the car next to me eating her snack. When I got her out of the warm car, she had a bit of weather shock!
And then…she was ok. Seriously, doesn’t she look like a grandma on her way to the bus stop!?? hahahah 🙂
I really hadn’t planned on taking pics this day. She had gone to preschool in the morning, and it’s all about “comfort/what you don’t care about getting ruined” /what I can get ON her and out the door in 15-20 minutes. Let’s be honest, I still want her to be cute, but…what she goes to preschool in isn’t necessarily what I blog all the time. Mainly too, because once she’s gone to school, I don’t have time to take pics after/or it’s got paint/mud on it!But get her near the beach, throwing rocks and sticks, and she’s happy. 🙂

Thriftstore scores again!
I usually don’t buy things that “go together” when I thrift, but sometimes I get lucky and things just work. I posted this hat and these jeans on Instagram the day I scored them. These Current Elliott Boyfriend Jeans that I found in the mens’ section (woo hoo for workers not knowing that boyfriend really didn’t mean “boy”friend!!) were $4.80, and this vintage wool hat was $4.20!

A little fun before work…
I actually found myself ahead of schedule the other day. I had a shoot during the week, and I found myself with 15 extra minutes before I was taking Maya to a drop in daycare. So…we went outside and danced a little…
Funny story. Maya is going to start preschool next week (so excited!!). Last week, we had a orientation picnic, and there was a list of school supplies we needed to bring. Of course I waited until the day before to go to Target and round everything up. The last thing on the list was a “head shot” of your child. Of all the items on the list, this was the one thing I didn’t have! ME! The professional photographer, who takes pictures of her daughter every day. No head shot. I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time I printed images out. Oh wait, yes I can. Every year at Christmas, I print out a big stack to distribute to family members. Anywho. The night before the picnic I took Maya into our backyard and got these images below. The one right below is the one I printed out. Not at the professional lab I use, but at my local drugstore… #momlife 😉
And for her reward, we ran through sprinklers 🙂

Moto Boots…
Ok, so we’re kind of twinsing again with our boots-whoops!Oh, and helpful tips for Mamas. Tying this denim shirt around my waist helped keep the dress down/aka made sure I didn’t flash anyone while picking Maya up. 🙂
I think this might be my new favorite picture I’ve taken of us!
So sad that the sun is going down earlier and earlier. Which means our evening walks will soon be coming to an end 😦
Aaaaand, one of my new favorite pictures of Maya. LOVE IT!!!

Brown Suede Booties…
I’ve gotten a little better about not accidentally matching with Maya. If it’s just our boots, I don’t think that really counts though 😉
This looks so sweet, but in reality, she’s saying “Shhhh!” haha 😉
Twinsies 😉
We walked over to my parents house to say hi, and this is Maya running into my mom’s arms. First the cute run…
hahaha. How much do I love how enthusiastically she runs in for a hug? A LOT!!!
We had gone to the zoo earlier in the day. I swear she was more excited about the statues than the real animals 🙂
Looooooove this one!

Playing on the beach…
I really need to get one of those tide schedules, because low tide in Seattle is SO amazing! Maya LOVES to run around in the water, and really….can you get a more beautiful setting??
And the shoes come off for both of us 🙂
Another plug for thrift store shopping. NO worries about getting down and dirty 🙂
