Knit Poncho + DIY Distressed Hem Crops + Converse (Sunset on the Beach)

Even when we have warmer spring days, the evenings on the beach can still be pretty chilly.

I took these over almost 2 months ago, but even now, we layer up in the evening.  BUT…not for long!!  We’ve bit inching into the high 70’s during the day, and I cannot wait for warm summer evenings!

I love the ease and comfort of a poncho!  Totally takes me back to my high school days when the Mexican blanket poncho was all the rage!

Now…I’ll do a fun knit instead 🙂 These are one of my FAVORITE pairs that I’ve chopped (and that’s saying a lot considering I’ve gone a little crazy chopping haha)

I played around with the hem instead of just doing a straight chop.  I love how they turned out!  Love… BUT…love these even more! Dancing on a rock…as she does…. And these kids flares?!!!

DYING! Yes….this is why we suffer through the 9 months of cold and rain….

On me…

Leather Jacket + LWD over Distressed Jeans + Booties

I wore this dress before and took it from day and then to night.  What I hadn’t realized when I tried it on was that the slip that came with it was SO SHORT!!  I added a 2nd slip when I wore it alone as a dress, but decided it would be perfect over a pair of skinny jeans!  I love putting skinnies over dresses that are a liiiiiittle too short for…well, ANY kind of movement.  Especially the case when you are dealing with your kids!  Running after them?  Bending over?!!  Um…not happening!

Although, for summer, I’ve also put a pair of cut offs under another little white dress and cute little lace shorts under an LBD!  I say don’t let it being too short stop you from buying something that’s super cute!  You can make it work!

OMG…her smile??!  DYING!! She really wanted me to make her “fly”.  I wasn’t sure if those days were gone, but I tried anyways.  She loved it, and…I didn’t throw out my back haha, so it was a win! Although, she wanted to keep doing it…She did a bunch of poses up on this ledge.  I was simultaneously dying, and nervous that she would dance right off!!  On me…

Leather Jacket- Organic by John Patrick (ebay)

Remlinger Farms “Fall Harvest Festival” | For Maya’s 5th Birthday

We went to Remlinger Farms for Maya’s 4th birthday last year (SO fun looking back on those pics!!), and we had such a good time that we went back again a few weeks later!

This year, I asked her…

“Would you rather have a birthday party with all your friends, or go back to Remlinger Farms with family?”

She chose Remlinger Farms with family again-YAY!!

I was a little nervous if she would have as much fun as she did the year before.  I shouldn’t have been worried… 🙂
blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-1 blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-2 blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-3 She freaking LOVES this ride!!  I think this might be the last year she can go on it, which is sooooo sad!blog-remlinger-farms-x2blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-4 Although, the best part for her was having her big cousin there again!blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-5 blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-6 blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-7 blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-8 OMG, dying over Houston and Charlie’s face hahaha.blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-9 And…Maya’s face here-HA!  What you can’t quite see (except by my sister in laws swirling hair!!!) is that this little ride was spinning around SO FAST!  I actually had to look away, because I was getting nauseous… Obviously, I didn’t volunteer to go on this one with her!blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-10 The family that rock climbs together…blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-11 blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-12 My dad got this one of me 🙂  Not going to lie.  I was shaking for a little while after this.  I don’t recommend rock climbing in Frye boots haha 🙂blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-13 blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-14 Gah.  How cute would it be to have this every year!  Charlie didn’t come with us last year, and I’m not sure she’ll chose this over a party again next year… 😦blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-15 I wanted to get a family picture in front of this, but the kids vanished…

So, my sister in law kindly got this one 🙂blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-16 blog-remlinger-farms-mayas-5th-birthday-17 The train was the only thing we didn’t do last year, so we wanted to make sure we got on.  It was perfect timing too, because it started to rain right before we got on!

Long Layers + Ripped Skinnies on the beach | A Favorite!

Again, I struggle!!!  What to title the post… If only I had time to really THINK!  Yet, I do not.  So, here we go. I noted that it was one of my favorites, because I didn’t want it to get lost in the shuffle, and…it’s one of my favorites!

Long layers.

It’s an easy out when you are feeling not so great (HELLO Holidays!! ;{ ), and want to cover up, but it’s a fine balance on just looking frumpy!  So…my usual rule of thumb, is if you are going long and loose up top, go tight on the bottom!
