Pop of color and…leopard (again)

I’ve always thought of this as a “dressier” jacket, so it just sits in my closet… I thought it might be fun to mix it with an edgier outfit. A little faux leather top and biker boots. I like the contrast of it all…and yet it works. I think?? 🙂 On me…

Keeping it Real…

Honestly, Maya was happy as a clam since we were at a park. I can’t believe how much I’ve changed since starting this blog in September. I used to be embarrassed if a car happened to drive by in my neighborhood while I was shooting. Now, I set up my tripod just about anywhere. Today, there were 4 carloads of high schoolers eating lunch while we were doing this. No problem… haha 🙂

Ok, seriously? She just cracks me up. Hands down favorite thing Maya does. I usually squat down to take her picture, and she’ll just run towards me for a hug. Not usually conducive to actually taking her picture, but I’ll take a big bear hug over a picture any day. On me…

Lesson learned. Don’t try and take pictures of Maya BEFORE lunch, and right after I told her we were going to go to Costco to get more Pirate’s Booty…

Do you ever have those days when you feel so overwhelmed with work, kids, and LIFE that the last thing you want to think about is “what am I going to wear?”?? Yeah, me too!! 🙂

When that happens, I revert to my comfort zone….black. When I wear all black, I like to at least play with texture… My husband worries that Maya will get “tainted” by me taking all these pictures of her and that she’ll think she’s a model. Um, I’m not worried 🙂 Just a kid jumping in leaves! Funny story. It was COLD yesterday and WINDY! Maya had ripped out the braid I had put in her hair and wouldn’t sit still for me to put her hair in a ponytail. SO…this is the 5 second updo, and I kind of like it! On me…

I may have just snagged this Gap shirt at a thrift store for $6, but I’ve had a version of this outfit for the last…um 20+ years? :} There are certain things you should just never get rid of. Cowboy boots=1. Good fitting denim shirt=2. Has she perfected the blogger look over the shoulder pose? I think so 🙂On me…

Ever since starting this blog, I’ve started dressing up a little more than I have since I started working from home (which was 6 years ago). The Huz is really liking that part 🙂 I’ve always had the other clothes, but kind of fell into a rut. When you work from home, are a stay at home mom, or in my case both, it can just be easier to stay in your sweats haha. Most days, I don’t take my shower until later in the day, which means hair in a bun… All that said, I feel SO much better about myself when I do get out of my sweats and actually put some thought into my clothes. Even if I don’t make it into the shower haha 🙂

So, I may not have taken a shower, nor put a lot of thought into my outfit, but at least I’m not in my sweats 🙂 Oh, but wait…at least we don’t match!On me…

I think I mentioned before that Maya has had some issues for the past 5 months. We’ve been going to the Dr more times that I can even count. For sure more times that I want to count.

Through it all, she’s been such a champ. Still full of smiles. THIS? A few hours after she was put under anesthesia, poked, proded, and…well a lot of other things. Love this little resilient nugget more than anything! Me? I just wanted to be comfy… On me…
