I had all these great intentions of blogging on our Mexico pics while we were on Christmas Break, but then reality and a never ending cold (I was seriously sick for the entire 2 1/2 weeks!!) kicked my ass, and…well.

I blogged nothing.

So, I’m catching up now, and hope to eventually also catch up on the pics I took from our LAST vacation to Los Cabos back during Spring Break 2018. Maybe for this next Spring Break?? Haha.

All in all, I’d love to do a write up of both places we stayed and what we did…eventually.

A fairly simple comfy outfit. High wasited crops are my go to right now. So easy and comfy. These had a built in hem that was too short for my legs, so I let it out, and I LOVE THEM! Funny enough, the brand has an almost identical pair to these with the hems let out. Great minds and all…

And, while I like to tuck things into high waisted pants, it’s so much easier and more flattering to tie tops right at the waist!

No lumps! No fussing with retucking when you go potty-haha, yes, I went there!

This is one of my favorite shoots we’d done in a while. It was totally impromptu outside of our house, which is usually when Maya gets into it the most.

Oddly enough…favorite shoot or no, we took them FIVE months ago….whoops.

So, let’s pretend those are yellow and orange leaves behind us!

We actually had a nice sunny day today, so the outfits could have happened! These were one of the first flares that I chopped. They are my FAV!! And…the ones that started the chopping addiction ha! Baby Birks!! DYING! These next images are some of my absolute favs of us! And….Maya totally schooling me on the art of posing!

Yup…trying to cram in the summer posts!

My favorite thing as of late is a high tie waisted crop flare!

Funny thing. When I wore these….3 months ago… I wasn’t as busy!

I thought…”I’ll post these someday soon…”

Yet, now, I’m trying to cram in all the summer things before they look ridiculous. And I CAN’T let these images of US go by…. And…ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

I thrifted this jumpsuit for $1.50, and it didn’t have a brand in it.

I want it in my size though!

Truth be told, these were taken back in the middle of June. This summer has been a whirlwind, but I’m determined to post some of these while the sun is still shining haha.

I used to be jeans only, but I’m really loving wearing dresses more often. The ease…the comfort…and they instantly make . you look like you put some effort into your outfit. In reality, they are a total time cheat-WIN!

Love the little faux leather straps with the leather tassles! Maya on the other hand, has ALWAYS been a dress girl! 🙂 And…thankfully also a world class cuddler! Hahaha. Trying really hard to be grumpy. Ok, I can laugh about it now… Thankfully, it usually ends up in laughter.

If there is one thing I live in, it’s white tops and jeans! The types of jeans might come and go out of fashion, but the combo is timeless and EASY! blog-joie-cotton-tank-dl1961-margaux-gibson-dansko-mary-jane-clogs-1 Gah. The way she is reaching for my hand…and the look on her face?!

It is soooo rare that I can get Maya into jeans anymore. All she wants to wear are dresses, but…Every once in a while I can still talk her into it. On the days she has swim lessons, I tell her she has to wear jeans, because they can be worn easily over her swimsuit at the gym before her lesson…

Yes, she could easily throw a dress on over her swimsuit, but WHATEVER. She hasn’t questioned me yet haha. She has SO many pairs of jeans that I’ve thrifted just sitting in her closet! I have to get her into them every once in a while!!

And…I couldn’t resist somewhat twinning with her, and ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THAT POSE?!!! UGH. I had more issues with the shutter release not working! Then when I thought I fixed it, I must have messed up the focus while doing so! I have 40+ SUPER CUTE shots that are focused like this ;( Maya was having fun taking my picture, and then ran and jumped into my arms giving me all these super sweet BLURRY kisses… I really shouldn’t complain, but it bummed me out. I was a little brain dead on what to wear, so I kept things pretty simple-a fun black boho top + my favorite denim, then added some fun shoes-DONE!

I literally took these in 5 minutes before I raced out the door. 🙂

It seems like people are always saying “The 70’s influence is coming back!” Honestly, I don’t think it’s every left. There are always 70’s influences that are in style. It was a great decade for inspiration. All the bohemian flowing looks…the wide leg denim…the amazing hats!! I could go on and on. Although, maybe it’s because I was born in the 70’s? I don’t think so 🙂

I stumbled upon these jeans at the thrift store over the weekend. They were in the girls section, but looked like they might fit, so for $5 I grabbed them. I LOVE THEM!!!! They are high waisted, and because they are meant for a 12 year old, the length is perfect!! haha. Only slightly embarrased that these are meant for a middle schooler, but whatever! Once again, my lesson in looking outside the box while thrifting was a big success! Maya found a humongous ant! She named him Dan, and carried him around on our walk for about 20 minutes 🙂 I attempted to have her set him free for a few minutes, but that didn’t last.I was actually a little sad for Dan that we relocated him so far away. Hopefully he’ll find his way back to his family if he had one…Rolling down the hill towards my Christmas tree shadow 🙂On me…

A little fun before work…

I actually found myself ahead of schedule the other day. I had a shoot during the week, and I found myself with 15 extra minutes before I was taking Maya to a drop in daycare. So…we went outside and danced a little… Funny story. Maya is going to start preschool next week (so excited!!). Last week, we had a orientation picnic, and there was a list of school supplies we needed to bring. Of course I waited until the day before to go to Target and round everything up. The last thing on the list was a “head shot” of your child. Of all the items on the list, this was the one thing I didn’t have! ME! The professional photographer, who takes pictures of her daughter every day. No head shot. I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time I printed images out. Oh wait, yes I can. Every year at Christmas, I print out a big stack to distribute to family members. Anywho. The night before the picnic I took Maya into our backyard and got these images below. The one right below is the one I printed out. Not at the professional lab I use, but at my local drugstore… #momlife 😉 And for her reward, we ran through sprinklers 🙂On me…
