Wow…I’m SO behind on blogging, it’s ridiculous.
And…this is my busiest week to date, having photographed 15 families, and two more this weekend, oh…and Maya’s bday tomorrow, but…for F’s sake. I need to finish this post!!!
Edited to add that, I’m now at 25+ families, and Maya’s birthday was 2 weeks ago, BUT I had a complete rain out this weekend, so, I’m going to be posting ALL THE THINGS! Ok, I probably won’t, but I’m posting this post that I had 90% done ha!
Our official anniversary was on 8/8 (those pics here), but we went out on the Saturday night after to celebrate.
Good food, amazing wine, and the best company…
Happy Anniversary to us!
Love is me saying “Can we go take pics??” 5 minutes before he orders the Uber, and he said YES!
Oh, and while I have the tripod set up….can you take a few of me, since the remote still isn’t working?
SNAP, SNAP, SNAP!
Again…my love language haha.
My face is like “You’re ok still snapping, right??”
And big thanks to my parents for taking Maya for the night!
I took this right before they took her out to dinner!
In, or course her favorite outfit that they brought her back from Vietnam!
We started off the night going to the Goldfinch Tavern in the Four Seasons downtown Seattle.
It’s a BEAUTIFUL hotel and bar in downtown Seattle. Not sponsored in any way, but I’ve been the bar a number of times, yet haven’t stayed in the hotel. It looks amazing though.
The bar has a great happy hour, at times live music, always a great ambiance, and if you can secure it…a great view of the water! We got there late for that, but didn’t care 😉
Oh, and the food…
SO GOOD!
Next, we went to the Purple Cafe & Wine Bar
Honestly, we rarely leave our neighborhood, BUT the great thing about Seattle and honestly Costco, is that you can get gift cards for 20% off to a bunch of amazing restaurants! We’ve been to so many, but one memory that we had of an early date night was going to Purple and having stuffed dates with a red wine flight that blew our minds!
SO, we decided to go back and maximize our money!
I would recommend asking to go upstairs if you go. It’s a much more intimate experience than down below. Almost as if you are in a small bistro,
We forgot to do that this time, but…we had better light for iphone photos haha.
On me…

So…it’s probably obvious that I didn’t have time to do my hair. Nor my make up.
I’ll at least attempt to be put together…
As per usual, I’m more about the back being fun!
Maya had an art direction of how she wanted us to pose.
It took me a few times to figure it out 🙂
When all else fails…
Then… the couple of the hour! I mean, day.
10 Years married, and I’m SO happy I still look at him this way.
My remote wasn’t working, so we had Maya stand behind the tripod and snap away.
LOVE!
These two…
I brought this “jacket” that I recently thrifted and cut. I’ve been wanting a cropped army jacket for a while. I saw this one thrifting a few weeks ago during a 50% off sale, and decided to buy it and chop it!
It normally would have come down past the pockets of my jeans.
LOVE HER!!
We walked to

OBSESSED with the back of the dress!!
What I wasn’t expecting….how revealing it would be on the side-WHOOPS!!
THANK GOD there were to wardrobe malfunctions!!
LOVE!
Her Fingerling that she recently thrifted for $2, that she couldn’t NOT have with her… Remember when these were ALL THE RAGE and you couldn’t buy one for Christmas except on ebay for $100?!! Yeah, she didn’t get one that year, and has wanted one ever since…

Funny thing…My remote broke again, so we did these all with a 10 second timer. SO…not as
Yup, almost a wardrobe malfunction, and we weren’t even doing anything!!
If there is a cat or dog near…Maya will not pay any attention to me.
I love these jeans! I recently scored them off eBay for $7.50!!! And this cute vintage bag is another recent Goodwill score for $6.50!
Maya when I came out wearing this…
I had been using this scarf tied around our focusing stand, but then had the brilliant idea of tying it to my bag-LOVE IT!!
Maya wanted to wear her hair down, and she looks SO grown up to me!
Looooooove all these next ones!!
Me…constantly smothering her. Her….kiiiiiinda putting up with it 🙂
Maya said I should wear these “Birthday Babe” sunglasses that she found at a thriftstore. The only problem is that I forgot that the camera is looking at you backwards from what you are doing. We were attempting to show that I turned 45 but it came out 54?!?
I can resist matching shoes!!
Maya saw her picture on the back of the camera, and said “From far away, I look like you!”
Nailed that pose!
And….my scarf tied as the focusing point.
Good grief. I don’t even remember what I was laughing about!
And, what the HECK??!!!

I can only hope that she will come to more events with me, because we had the best time! And…it carried through the entire day!

Here are the floral crowns we made, And by we….I mean, I made them, while Maya walked around and schmoozed with the guests. But….let’s be honest. That was fine by me. We were both in our happy place!
I borrowed this image from
And this next one from

I’m wearing a bun at least 50% of them time. I wish I had time to do my hair, but honestly, most days…I don’t. SO….I’m trying to find fun ways to accessorize the bun-haha! I’ve tried the head scarf, but can’t quite get it to look good, so…scarf around the bun it is!
Lately…when I have time to run out and take pics, it’s almost Maya’s bedtime, so…

Gotta love my neighbors walking by…
Yeah, and usually one comes up behind me walking their dog!
This fringe and stud detailing…LOVE!!!
Always obsessed with our matching clogs from
Her face!!
Then 5 minutes later the sun was gone and it started to rain…

And, without fail…my cheap timer goes off when I don’t want it to. BUT…it’s cheap, and…it’s

Sometimes (ok, everyday) I just want to eat her UP!!!
Maya got this frisbee at the YMCA “Healthy Kids Day”, and we finally went out and practiced.

Love the back hem of these!
Maya and I had been to a “Tea Party” with her Girl Scout troop earlier in the day so she was a little dressed up for that. She would happily wear a party dress every day of the week though haha.

In my defense…some of our friends had just walked by, but you know…time was a ticking and I wanted to still get some shots before we headed out for dinner, so…don’t mind us! They actually jumped in with us for a few right after! 🙂
I am SO obsessed with this vintage bag I scored while I was on a girls trip in Idaho!! It’s in perfect condition and the bakelite handles and trim are SO amazing!!
I loooooove the color of these clogs! At first I thought they were pink, but they are the prettiest blush nude that will go with EVERYTHING this summer!
I can’t handle these next ones…LOVE HER!! AND…The rainbow sunflare I got in these next ones makes me so happy!

She kept tickling me with this, and then…I realized she was really trying to get yellow dust all over my face. See outtakes 🙂

Is this thing working??
This is where I realized she was trying to dust me with yellow powder…
And yes…bikers and walkers were going past us constantly. No shame at this point!
