If you follow us on Instagram, then you saw this image last night. I take most of the pictures of me/me with Maya with a tripod and self timer. It’s convenient, but there are some limitations. As I’m getting more confident, I’m trying more things. I was SO excited that this one turned out! 🙂 Let’s pretend that I hung the “Happy” up too. The place where we took these is right near a very busy street. Maya was pretty good while I was hanging these two, but then she started getting antsy. Figured it was good enough haha. We had kind of a busy morning, so I really didn’t have time to think about what I was going to wear. That usually means all black for me 🙂 In the summer it always means jeans and a white T, but sadly…it’s not summer yet.

Btw, can we just ignore the fact that my necklace is strung up over my nose? :}For all you curly hair mama’s (ie, you wake up with a hot mess that can’t be combed into submission) In lieu of taking a shower/wetting your hair, a braid/twist into a bun is a super easy/fast way to look somewhat put together. I can just see my dad smirking as he reads this. 🙂 I’ve never been a denim on denim fan, until recently. I know the rest of the country is SICK of the snow, but we don’t get it that often in Seattle. We were in heaven… I actually covered up the best part of this jacket with my scarf. It’s got this super wide collar and double breasted buttons. Vintage Nordstrom that I’ve had for 15+ years. Combating the cold gray skies, with color…

We walk down by the beach almost every morning, but the past few mornings the 20ish degree weather with 15-20 mph winds has made that not sound so fun. Today, we went down there later in the afternoon after it had warmed up (to a whopping 26) for a little bit to chase seagulls and watch the ferries… She’s obsessed with seagulls. Or, any bird for that matter… I scored this faux leather jacket last summer for less than $5, and I’ve been DYING for her to fit into it. It’s still a little big, but oh well. SO cute 🙂 On me…

I SO wish I had gotten a picture of Maya when I went to get her out of the car. I had given her a PB&J wrap to eat while I was taking my pictures. She opened it up, licked out all the PB&J, and then ate the wrap. Do I need to tell you that peanut butter and jam were EVERYWHERE?? Thankfully it wiped right off the faux leather jacket, and her jeans were dark!

I’ve always thought of this as a “dressier” jacket, so it just sits in my closet… I thought it might be fun to mix it with an edgier outfit. A little faux leather top and biker boots. I like the contrast of it all…and yet it works. I think?? 🙂 On me…

Honestly, Maya was happy as a clam since we were at a park. I can’t believe how much I’ve changed since starting this blog in September. I used to be embarrassed if a car happened to drive by in my neighborhood while I was shooting. Now, I set up my tripod just about anywhere. Today, there were 4 carloads of high schoolers eating lunch while we were doing this. No problem… haha 🙂

Ok, seriously? She just cracks me up. Hands down favorite thing Maya does. I usually squat down to take her picture, and she’ll just run towards me for a hug. Not usually conducive to actually taking her picture, but I’ll take a big bear hug over a picture any day. On me…
