Side note for momma’s (or really for anyone!)  These shirts from H&M are awesome in that they don’t wrinkle!  I hugged and carried Maya around and you’d never know… WIN!!!  I love silk tops, but not so practical for toddler days :{Normally, I don’t do black and whites on here, even though I usually only print in black and white.  I messed up the exposure on this next one though because the sun came out from behind a cloud.  Anywho…I LOVE it, so I saved it by turning it black and white.  More info than anyone wanted/cared about,but there you go 🙂  And how about we just mark that under “photography tips” haha.  Black and white…saves a lot of mistakes 🙂“Upside down, mommy!!”  She cracks me up… The grass had just been mowed at the park we were at, and it was still wet.  She kept picking up her feet like she didn’t want them to get wet/get grass in her shoes.  So funny.  Especially since she’s like me in that she’ll run barefoot anywhere!  June flowers?  They certainly didn’t bring work… I had two shoots this weekend that both had to reschedule 😦  And so it begins… All that said, it was kind of nice.  My mother in law is in town, so we got to spend more time with her and my niece (who she came into town to watch)  Plus, it’s always nice to have time with the family on the weekends!

We literally ran outside for the 20 minutes that it wasn’t raining on Sunday to take these and take a little walk around the neighborhood before it poured again.

I found these Dr. Martens at a thrift store a few weeks ago for $9.  TOTAL flashback to my college days!  I couldn’t decide if I totally loved them, or if they were totally nerdy.  I let them sit for a while, and now I think I’ve decided that I love them! Maya is obsessed with rain boots.  And…I’m obsessed with her underwear tushie 🙂  Yes, those are boys underwear.  They came in the pack with Monster Inc undies, and she loooooves Monsters Inc.  So, who cares? DYING over this coat that I thrifted (new with tag!!!) And of course she found the neighbors driveway that had the littlest of puddles 🙂 On me…

 I am really not a dress girl, but whenever I decide to put one on I end up liking it!  The ease of just throwing one thing on should be enough to keep me in them for the rest of my life haha.And…another pair of Dr. Scholl’s comes out 🙂 SO in love with this picture!!! On me…

In other news.  SOMEONE went potty in the toilet ALL BY HERSELF (with no prompting!!!) today!  SO INCREDIBLY PROUD AND EXCITED!!!  I’m not under any delusion that it will be smooth sailing from here on out, but still.  YIPPEE!

 Words cannot describe how excited I am to be heading down to Santa Barbara this afternoon for a girl’s weekend.  SO EXCITED!!  Of course Maya chose Wednesday as the day to finally give in and try potty training again.    She did SO well Thursday.  We had her Little Gym in the morning, so she wore a pull up there, but went both before and after WOO HOO!  All that said.  For all you mother’s out there, you know that the first few days are totally mixed with overwhelming pride, excitement, joy, frustration, patience testing to the max, and…lots of clean ups.  Oh, and not much free time to pack/get all the stuff done that you hope to get done before you leave for vacation.

Certainly didn’t have time to take pics, but thankfully I took these last week before I had a shoot.Love, love, love this sweater from Free People!  I love any kind of white/cream top that has a little fun mixed in.   You can’t really see them, but Maya’s running to meet my parents as they come down the block from their walk (that we had to miss out on :()  They were nice enough to watch Maya while I had to work.  Once she sees them, it’s “Bye Mommy!  Going to Meme and BOPO’s!!”  🙂 On me…

Shoes- Converse  (thrifted, but similar here)

 Truth be told, these espadrilles only lasted for a nano second before I put flats on again, but I am so tired of seeing myself in flats haha.  I think every mom should put heels on every once in a while.  Totally takes off at least 5 lbs, makes you feel just a little bit more put together (flats do that too, unless….you wear them EVERYDAY), and dare I say it…sexier?  Who couldn’t use all that?!  Not really that realistic day to day, but a very nice change here and there 🙂Having the heel be a wedge makes it a little easier/steadier. Thank you wind, for making these shots look way more dramatic than they were 🙂 Never ever will I get tired of these crazy hug tackles.  Hope she doesn’t either 🙂 “Look Mommy.  Insects!!”  She’s obsessed with finding ants, spiders, or any kind of bug/insect 🙂
