Summer Whites…

Ever since I first blogged this shirt dress, I’ve been wanting to wear it over white jeans. Finally did it over the weekend, and I love how easy and comfy it was. But really, anything with white jeans is a win in my book 🙂Love these fun shoes. They’re from Forever21 for $12!“Ice skating Mom?!” Sure, why not 😉This stick’s name is “Goffrey” (named by Maya ;)). She found him on our morning walk earlier this week, and he has come on every walk since. Normally, she picks up sticks here and there, but then drops them or throws them in some body of water. They’ve never stuck with us for more than 30 minutes and certainly didn’t get named! Goffrey has stood the test of time! Kind of impressed. She even stops (muuuuuultiple times) to feed him grass, dirt, and leaves 🙂 And THEN! Goffrey needed a mate. SO…this is “Dita” Yes, she named them both, and we still have Dita on our front porch too! Really, is there anything hotter this summer? I love throwing on a chunky cardigan in the summer, and kimonos are just the summer version of that! I scored this fun fringe one at Nordstrom Rack during their “Clear the Rack” sale. I love that it can totally be dressed up, yet (obviously!) dressed down for a night at the beach. At first I was totally bummed that I cut off half of Maya (the downside to the self timer and tripod), but I kind of like it…I’m calling it a creative crop 🙂 I know I’m biased, but could she be any cuter?? I think NO!!!On me…

I love going into Funky Jane’s, my local consignment store, to drop stuff off, and having her tell me I have a credit to spend. Some times I’ll take the check, but I like the idea of giving the business back to her too. Then…I get clothes for free (kind of ;))

I love this shirtdress by Joe’s Jeans. So easy to just throw on in the summer. I wasn’t sure if it was too short, but I think I like it with the slip underneath? I might just tie it and use it as a shirt too. Or…unbutton a few on the bottom and wear it as a long tunic over white skinnies! Retailed for $138, consignment price $19, my price $0 😉 Got this bag too, for less than $20 (I mean free! :)). Retailed for probably $300+ And these shoes??? How fun! I probably wouldn’t have spent full price on these, because they are a little too trendy, but for $9/Free, I was all over them. And, honestly, now I totally love them! Seriously, is Maya the only toddler that in 2.3 seconds dumps out all the bubbles? My mom got her this headdress, and she loves it! “Look, it’s like a horse!” And…haha. I tried a little something fun. Seriously, when did she become a teenager!!? On me…

Ok, not THAT backside, but obviously I am drawn to tops that have interesting backs. I also love taking pictures from behind, so maybe there’s a thing going on there?

All that to say. This Ella Moss sweater is nice from the front…But, then… I thrifted these super comfy, yet fun shoes for $3.50! I’m kind of excited whenever I find a pair of shoes that I can wear to shoot a wedding. I ran errands and was on my feet most of the day in these, and my feet never hurt! Love that they have a tiny bit of a heel too 🙂 Yes, I think she is soooo ready for dance class, and so am I!! I cannot wait to get her in a leotard!! :} On me…

Summer Whites…

I’ve talked before on many posts about my love of white denim. I have no problem wearing them all year long, but there is something extra good about wearing them on a warm summer evening… I also love a good silk top, but they really aren’t all that practical or fun when you are playing with your kids-wrinkles (insert fist shake!) This top is 100% pure fine polyester haha 🙂 And you know what…NO WRINKLES (insert fist pump!)

See? Fist pump!! Ok, really…”Tickle me?!!” 🙂hahaha. This is such a Maya move right now. The little foot kick 🙂 I love that she will just bust out dancing in the middle of the sidewalk. I know that will change eventually, but I hope it’s not for a while…On me…

For all intents and purposes, this is a very simple outfit. I’m a total sucker for a fun white tee, jeans, and fun shoes. Almost as much as a mullet top 😉I’ve had these shoes for a couple of years, and I just keep wearing them… Love how they tie in the back! She wasn’t ready to end her game, and I wasn’t about to take it away from her just to get a picture 🙂 They have so many cool learning apps! They are a LIFESAVER sometimes, and…totally edjucational-WIN! Going to visit the neighborhood dog 🙂 I love that she’s a total animal lover. She wants to pet every cat and dog on our walk. “What’s that name!? Pet it??!” Then she reaches her little hand out for them to sniff 🙂She found some mossy stuff that was utterly fascinating to her 🙂And this is why we take evening walks…

OMG, it has been back to the same happy sweet Maya for the last few days. I really do think that potty training put her in a bit of a tailspin. Now that she’s got the hang of it, it’s SO NICE!!!

SO, Mama’s, if you are going through this with your little one, there is hope that it truly is just a phase! Although, I might be overly optimistic and jumping the gun on my excitement. I’ll keep you posted 😉

Side note for momma’s (or really for anyone!) These shirts from H&M are awesome in that they don’t wrinkle! I hugged and carried Maya around and you’d never know… WIN!!! I love silk tops, but not so practical for toddler days :{Normally, I don’t do black and whites on here, even though I usually only print in black and white. I messed up the exposure on this next one though because the sun came out from behind a cloud. Anywho…I LOVE it, so I saved it by turning it black and white. More info than anyone wanted/cared about,but there you go 🙂 And how about we just mark that under “photography tips” haha. Black and white…saves a lot of mistakes 🙂“Upside down, mommy!!” She cracks me up… The grass had just been mowed at the park we were at, and it was still wet. She kept picking up her feet like she didn’t want them to get wet/get grass in her shoes. So funny. Especially since she’s like me in that she’ll run barefoot anywhere! On me…

So, this isn’t a “keeping it real”, but lately Maya is into saying “Hi Friends!” to anyone we come across. It is ridiculously cute!!! Well, there were a bunch of teenagers (on lunch break??) at the park, and Maya kept saying “Hi Friends! Hiiiiiii Friends?!” Then, she looked at me (after they didn’t say hi back) and said “They’re shy…” God, I love her.

June flowers? They certainly didn’t bring work… I had two shoots this weekend that both had to reschedule 😦 And so it begins… All that said, it was kind of nice. My mother in law is in town, so we got to spend more time with her and my niece (who she came into town to watch) Plus, it’s always nice to have time with the family on the weekends!

We literally ran outside for the 20 minutes that it wasn’t raining on Sunday to take these and take a little walk around the neighborhood before it poured again.

I found these Dr. Martens at a thrift store a few weeks ago for $9. TOTAL flashback to my college days! I couldn’t decide if I totally loved them, or if they were totally nerdy. I let them sit for a while, and now I think I’ve decided that I love them! Maya is obsessed with rain boots. And…I’m obsessed with her underwear tushie 🙂 Yes, those are boys underwear. They came in the pack with Monster Inc undies, and she loooooves Monsters Inc. So, who cares? DYING over this coat that I thrifted (new with tag!!!) And of course she found the neighbors driveway that had the littlest of puddles 🙂 On me…

I mentioned on Instagram that 25% of the time I don’t take showers for these pictures, 60% of the time I haven’t washed my hair in a few days, 75% of the time I’m not wearing make up, and…100% of those are all true for the above images 😉 (all percentages give or take a few ;)) And THAT is why there are no close up shots hahaha.

And…we don’t always make it back in time before the self timer goes off 🙂
