WhoWhatWear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge // Day 23 // Wear a Color You Have Not Worn in a While

So, I know I skipped a few days.  As we near the end of the 30 Challenge, I’m going to jump around to ones I haven’t done.  I’ll still include all 30 in my final post, but won’t blog them all as individual posts.  A) I have too many to catch up on, and B) That way I can slam through a few without Maya/while she’s sleeping 🙂

I tried a few things on for this one.  I don’t wear a lot of color, so the few things I tried on that I hadn’t worn in a while, well…there is a reason I haven’t worn them!  I didn’t want to put something on that I didn’t really like (ok, yes, that probably means I should add it to the donate pile!!).  Plus, I have to admit.  As much fun as I’ve been having mixing it up, I really just wanted to wear a sweater, skinnies, and boots (which btw, was today’s challenge haha!).  I still wanted to throw some color in there, so I went with a scarf.  Scarfs are such a great way to add some fun to a simple outfit, and you can always get them for cheap!  I always get scarves when I travel as souvenirs.  Got this one from Tanzania for less than $10, when I went there almost exactly 6 years ago!Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-1 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-2 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-3 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-4 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-5 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-6 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-7 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-8 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-9 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-10 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-11 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-12 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-13 Blog Zara Sweater Vince Destroyed Skinnies Lace Up Boots-14 Other Style Challenge Days here…

Another dress!!  Who’d a thunk?  I never would have worn this outfit if it weren’t for the challenge, but I kind of liked it.  There were a few windy moments, when I feared I flashed people, but I had on tights, so…oh well.  :}Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-1 Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-2 Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-3 Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-4 Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-5 Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-6 Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-7Looking both ways for cars.  SO CUTE!!  Safety first 🙂 Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-8 Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-9This is SUCH a classic Maya look.  We spotted my dad out for a walk (as we were on our way over to their house for a quick visit), and she’s asking him something.  🙂 Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-10And of course…a stick 😉 Blog StyleMint Jacket Twenty8Twelve Dress Frye Harness Boots-11Other Style Challenge Days here…

WhoWhatWear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge // Day 17 // Winterize your favorite summer skirt

Funny that this challenge didn’t stand out to me at first as being difficult, until I looked through my closet.  I don’t wear skirts.  Like….ever anymore!  I found a few, but they certainly aren’t any kind of “favorite”.  So, I took a dress that I love and winterized it 🙂  It’s been raining sideways, so more inside pics.

WhoWhatWear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge // Day 16 // Monochrome in a Bright Color

I don’t know if oxblood counts as a bright color, but it’s pretty bright for me!  I have snippets of bright colors in my wardrobe, but I definitely trend towards more basic colors.  With the exception of green.  LOVE just about every shade of green, but I didn’t really want to look like a frog 🙂

Side note.  I’m getting way more comfortable whipping out my tripod and taking these selfies, but this is a very busy running trail.  On a nice sunny day, you can just imagine the comments I was getting…Blog Vintage Leather Jacket Lanston Tee True Religion Suede Skinny Frye Booties-1 Blog Vintage Leather Jacket Lanston Tee True Religion Suede Skinny Frye Booties-2 Blog Vintage Leather Jacket Lanston Tee True Religion Suede Skinny Frye Booties-3 Blog Vintage Leather Jacket Lanston Tee True Religion Suede Skinny Frye Booties-4 Blog Vintage Leather Jacket Lanston Tee True Religion Suede Skinny Frye Booties-5 Blog Vintage Leather Jacket Lanston Tee True Religion Suede Skinny Frye Booties-6Um, Mom, where are the bubbles you promised?? WhoWhatWear 30 Day Wardrobe Challenge // Day 15 // 3 Levels of Layering

It seems funny that I was so overwhelmed by this challenge at first.  I’ve been loving seeing other people’s takes on the challenge on Instagram too.  It’s what I love most about fashion.  Different people can wear almost the same look, yet look completely different.  That also means that you don’t have to shy away from something because you don’t think you could pull it off or it’s not you.  Make it you! 🙂  I had actually thought of a completely different outfit at first, but then it turned out to be 55-yay!  But…that didn’t exactly work with the silk top/sweater/jacket combo I had in mind.  So, I went with lighter layers…Blog Juicy Jacket HM Top Joes Jeans Born Booties-1Love how this top is sheer in the back.
