Ugh….these were taken SO long ago (almost TWO months!)
It was such a magical day!
Maya and I went to an event hosted by Kirsty of The Kirsty Files , Jenn of What Jenn Wore at Pacific Place.
I’ve seen some of the events both Kirsty and Jenn have put on, and they look SO fun and always have a creative aspect to them. When I saw that this event would include the making of a floral crown, I knew I had to ask if kids could come! Kirsty said yes, so I was all in!
What do you wear to a fashion event…that’s always the question. I see people dressed to the nines, but that’s not me. Especially if I’m bringing Maya with me.
SO…vintage top, my fav high waisted crop flares, and some comfy sandals-DONE!
I can only hope that she will come to more events with me, because we had the best time! And…it carried through the entire day!

Here are the floral crowns we made, And by we….I mean, I made them, while Maya walked around and schmoozed with the guests. But….let’s be honest. That was fine by me. We were both in our happy place!
I borrowed this image from Jenn’s Instagram.
And this next one from Kirsty’s blog post,
Both images taken by Saskia Potter.
We all seriously had SO much fun making these crowns! Everyone’s was different, and ALL of them were beautiful! All the flowers were graciously provided by the talented Holly Yee

On me…

Clearly green parkas are a fav…
NOT going to e able to do this much longer! But…I keep saying that.
Hahaha. Clearly so happy I’m taking her picture.
I had taken Charlie’s senior pictures earlier in the day, and Maya tagged along. While he was changing, I took some of her 🙂 . Paint on her forehead from school and all…
Seriously though, what the WHAT!?? It blows my mind that Charlie was Maya’s age when I met him…and now. 18, 6’5″ and about to graduate!
Of course Maya wanted to pop into almost all his pictures.
They are pretty stinking cute together…
On me…
And…Maya jumping to me with rocks behind me…almost ended badly!
Add an accessory that matches, and you’re done!
I think it’s easy to think that the distressed hem can’t go to “night”, but I think it can!
And
And…a silver platform sneaker…both comfy yet adds some fun!
I actually took the above pictures right before picking Maya up from school. I actually shot this look and then swapped out my shoes and jacket for a “day to night” look (coming soon). I did all that in a whopping 15 minutes haha.
I can’t even….
SO her!

She never has her hair all down, but the clip she’d worn to school was half out. I took it out and was going to put it back in, but then…didn’t want to mess with it without a brush. But, during all her dancing she kept getting hairs in her mouth 🙂
