Tees and Cut Offs on the Beach…

I have all these outfits that I want to wear in the summer, but the reality of life with a toddler that you have to run ragged in order to get a good nap…is this.

Comfortable + Ok being soaked in salt water and sand… 😉Blog HM Gray Muscle Tee DL1961 Lola Cut Off Shorts in Lennox Panhandle Slim Vintage Plaid Button Down Black Converse-1 Blog HM Gray Muscle Tee DL1961 Lola Cut Off Shorts in Lennox Panhandle Slim Vintage Plaid Button Down Black Converse-2 Blog HM Gray Muscle Tee DL1961 Lola Cut Off Shorts in Lennox Panhandle Slim Vintage Plaid Button Down Black Converse-3 Blog HM Gray Muscle Tee DL1961 Lola Cut Off Shorts in Lennox Panhandle Slim Vintage Plaid Button Down Black Converse-4 Blog HM Gray Muscle Tee DL1961 Lola Cut Off Shorts in Lennox Panhandle Slim Vintage Plaid Button Down Black Converse-5 Blog HM Gray Muscle Tee DL1961 Lola Cut Off Shorts in Lennox Panhandle Slim Vintage Plaid Button Down Black Converse-6 Blog HM Gray Muscle Tee DL1961 Lola Cut Off Shorts in Lennox Panhandle Slim Vintage Plaid Button Down Black Converse-7 Blog HM Gray Muscle Tee DL1961 Lola Cut Off Shorts in Lennox Panhandle Slim Vintage Plaid Button Down Black Converse-8Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-1Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-2Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-3There’s this little hidden beach that we love to go to.  Ok, it’s not hidden at all, so I have NO IDEA why more people don’t go to it.  BUT…it’s little when the tide is up, so it’s great for May to just run back and forth, and back and forth, and…..back and forth.  She ran non stop for over 45 minutes, and the best part was that I didn’t have to chase her down!  She was never that far away from me, and there was nowhere for her to go, but…back to me!Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-4She found a mini crab carcass and was clenching it in her hand the entire time.  🙂Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-5Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-6Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-7Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-8Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-9Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-10Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-11Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-12Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-13Blog Ascot and Hart Tee DIY Levis Cutoffs Red Converse High Tops-14On me…

Keeping it Real…
This keeping it real is a little more scary than I’d like to admit.  The last image shows the ferry that came a little closer than all the others.  The waves we had been playing in were at most 1 feet high.  Right as we were leaving Maya rolled in the sand (duh, toddler).  So, I left my bag at the sea wall with my camera, phone, etc.  It’s about 20 feet from the tide.  I’m washing the sand off Maya, and then I look up to see a 4 feet wave coming at us.  This isn’t bad for California, Hawaii, or Mexico…but for our little beach…it was huge!  Thank goodness I was holding Maya and washing her off.  I grabbed her and ran.  By the time the wave hit us, it hit me at waist high.  It kept going and splashed against the seawall.  Soaking. My. Bag…. My phone ended up being toast.  My camera has since been sent to Canon to be looked at (FINGERS CROSSED that it being weather sealed saved my bacon….I can only hope, since it’s my lively hood, and…really expensive sob, sob)  BUT…what I couldn’t stop thinking about all night, and what woke me up at 4 am in a sweat.  What if I hadn’t been holding Maya at the time?  Well, I just have to keep pushing those thoughts out of my mind, because thank god I was!!!  Phones and cameras can all be replaced…
(all pictures taken with a self timer and tripod, except ones of Maya :))
