Frayed Denim Pencil Skirts + Red Clogs | 4th of July 2017 take 2!

We had a little break between the morning activities I posted about on Friday.

Maya went over to my parent’s house to make a berry crisp with my mom, and then we stopped by a blog party on our way back home.  There was a LOT of chalk involved, and therefore…an outfit change was needed 🙂  I was just too hot in jeans and a long sleeve top, so…I changed too!

Again, we didn’t set off our usual fireworks this year, sadly.  We are thinking about going somewhere next year where we can freely blast things off, but are undecided… Kind of a bummer all around.

However, I’m always excited to wear red, white, and blue!  It’s such a classic combo, and the pop of a red shoe is always a fun idea!!

Maya off to the side doing who knows what…as per usual 🙂 Love the back of this top! Oh, and this skirt?  I thrifted it for $3.50 at Value Village when they had their pre 4th of July sale on Sunday (retailed for $88!)!  I wouldn’t normally pick a denim pencil skirt, but it caught my eye, and I’ve worn it twice since then-ha! 🙂 OMG, her face!!! Loooooooove! Charlie had been out walking Max and came up behind us to photo bomb.

LOVE this next one!  Even Max looks good!  Only missing the Huz inside… Loooooove this one!

Leather Jackets + Denim Pencil Skirts…

So, one of my favorite things about thrifting is being able to try trends that you aren’t quite sure about.  You aren’t throwing away a ton of money, and if you end up not liking it…no big deal!  I’ve been randomly obsessed with denim pencil skirts lately….on other people.

I’m going to just mark this one down as “Tried it, but not meant for me!!””

I had hopes that maybe this skirt could be worn on a date night with the Huz, but I don’t see that happening!!  The slit…SO high.  And, I just felt totally uncomfortable the entire time I wore it!  Yet, I know on someone else it would be totally sexy!Blog Muubaa 360 Cashmere 7FAM Pencil Skirt Frye Knee Boots-1Blog Muubaa 360 Cashmere 7FAM Pencil Skirt Frye Knee Boots-2 Blog Muubaa 360 Cashmere 7FAM Pencil Skirt Frye Knee Boots-3SO…truth be told, I took the shots above the morning after the ones below.  As in no shower, no make up, puffy eyes…yet, when I had 10 free minutes (forgive me)!!!!  BECAUSE…I attempted to take shots the night before, and no go.   Honestly, I was just going to scrap the post, but I thought, NO!  I thought this might work, and it didn’t.  Someone else might think it does.  SO…I’m posting anyways.

These next shots-the night before the ones above, Maya was in a mood, and didn’t want to take pictures.  BUT…it was a gorgeous night!  SO….I gave her my phone with the thought that I would just snap a few pictures of this outfit just to see.  So many times I’m not really sure about an outfit until I take pictures of it.  Then, I either wear it over and over, or think…

“OMG!!!  I am NEVER wearing that again!!!”

Obviously, it’s clear which category this outfit fell into.

AND…in this case, SO not upset about Maya not letting me take pictures of it haha.Blog Muubaa 360 Cashmere 7FAM Pencil Skirt Frye Knee Boots-4Then… She suddenly snapped out of her funk and wanted to play!  Which…is great, but can you just imagine for a second me climbing down a rocky path to follow her in this outfit??!!  With my camera??!  The entire time, I thought I was only going to snap a few of just me!

But…totally glad to take pictures of Maya having fun!Blog GapKids Parka Zutano Tunic Gray Harness Boots-1We’ve been to/I’ve talked about this particular beach before.  It’s ever changing.  People bring things here and there, and it’s always a surprise as to what you will find.   She found some dinosaurs this time, and was in heaven.  She loooooves dinosaurs!!Blog GapKids Parka Zutano Tunic Gray Harness Boots-2 Obviously, we leave everything right where it is for the next people to enjoy 🙂Blog GapKids Parka Zutano Tunic Gray Harness Boots-3And of course, I brought bubbles.  Those are always my fall back 😉 Blog GapKids Parka Zutano Tunic Gray Harness Boots-4 Because… 🙂Blog GapKids Parka Zutano Tunic Gray Harness Boots-5And then.

This is so Seattle weather… It’s all fun and games, until…it starts raining out of nowhere!!  And as much as I always defend the stereotype of it raining “all the time”.  Clearly, it doesn’t (if you follow along)!!  But…it, randomly does…a lot. 😉  And, Maya wasn’t so happy about it haha.  Me, on the other hand.  Kind of excited that I caught the rain/sunset 🙂Blog Outtake
