Day 22…
•
We went into voluntary self isolation about a week and a half before the schools got cancelled here in Seattle, a few weeks before sports activities, gyms, restaurants got shut down. We pulled Maya out of school while most kids were still going. No play dates. Stopped going to swim lessons and circus class. Maya and I have only left the house to go for walks and the occasional isolated photo shoot when nobody was around, because OMG, I was going crazy and needed some normalcy.
•
The first week held MANY a breakdowns (ok, the first two weeks..). Why were we the only ones making this decision?! Friends making off hand comments about it being it being a tad extreme. Saying that everything would be back to normal in a few weeks, and they would see me then!
•
But I knew in my gut that it was the right decision for our family. I won’t go into the details of that, but we are ones that do NOT want it in our home.
•
From the get go, we’ve been all in. Honestly, there is no way to be half in if you are worried about the health of your family. It’s one thing to be concerned about spreading the virus, but another when you do NOT want it in your home and are worried about your family members.
•
I didn’t share about this before, because I was so worried about the eye rolls and the “you are totally overreacting!” comments. But, this page for me is about documenting our lives. •
This is an “UNPRECEDENTED” time! I want to document how we lived through it! I’ve been doing more of that in our stories, but feel like I need to do more here too.
•
SO…get used to this view. It’s the sidewalk right in front our our house, so…that’s probably the only place we will go. Maybe across the street? During off times? I’m not sure yet… •

What I AM sure of, is that this girl is a freaking ROCK STAR! She is a social butterfly and a total free spirit!! Things people use to describe her ALL THE TIME, and it’s true. Yet, she’s handled this isolation with joy and laughter, and truth be told…more grace than me.

Forever thankful to be isolated with HER! #LetterToMiscMaya #MayasMilestones
